The amount of rock used to protect the reservoir levees in the flood bed and the earth-structures amounts to 460 000 tons. The weight of the prefabricated concrete elements in 12 100 tons. For the production of 50 000 cu. m concrete per year, it was necessary to establish a semi-automatic concrete mixing plant. From this plant the mixed concrete was transported by special dumpers having containers of 1,4 cu.m capacity to the tower cranes working on the emplacement. There were two tower cranes of type ZW—120/160 Mostostal and two ones of type ZW—45 worked on the construction. To ensure uninterrupted construction a ground-water lowering system in four stages was operated. The ring dike was pulled down after the termination of the ground-water lowering system in June 1972. The concrete mixing plant and other preparatory buildings had been pulled down to enable earth excavation. A rock-dike was constructed to close the river bed of the old Tisza stretch at its downstream end. Its last, 48 m long section was constructed from a provisional bridge. The rock-dike was built on a 70X80 m brush matress.
