3. The Local Studies Group of the Association of Hungarian Librarians (HKSZ). - 3.3. National Conferences organised by the HKSZ.

3 rd Conference of the Local Studies Group™: Tata, 16-18 July 1996 László Gyuszi led the planning team for this 3 r Conference held in Móricz Zsigmond Town Library, Tata. The main theme of the Conference was the role of local history monographs, both nationally and internationally. The speakers were Gergely Csiffáry, Penny Ward, Gyula Varga, Ferenc Erdős and Géza Körmendi. On the second day Miklós Bényei, László Lisztes, Mária Tarába, Lajos Ke­mecsi, György Gyuris, Ilona Kovács, Éva Nagy, László Laki-Lukács and Károly Kertész spoke about local bibliographies as sources of local studies interest. The third day of each national Conference is traditionally the time for the host library to give its presentations. On this occasion the speakers were Margit Beké, Éva Mária Fülöp, Éva Ravasz, Anikó Fürész and Jr. Géza Horváth. The cultural visits to Tata, Majk, Révkomárom and Komárom were memorable for all those who took part. 4 th Conference of the Local Studies Group 91 : Miskolc, 23-25 July 1997 Delegates travelled to the Szabó Lőrinc Branch Library of Miskolc Town Library for this 4 th Conference, arrenged by Zoltánná Vörös. The theme of this Conference linked into the original HKSZ Deed of Foundation and dealt with the realities of local studies collections in the former Hungarian territories. The opening lecturers, Imre Pozsgay, András Görömbei and Lóránt Kabdebó, spoke about the Hungarian nation in Europe, Hungarian culture and literature. On the second day the sessions were devoted to guest speakers from Kassa, Sepsiszentgyörgy, Burgenland, Szabadka and Slovenia. Stefan Kolivosko, Jenő Kiss, Ireneusz Ferenc Galambos, Gusztáv Kiss and József Papp spoke about their experiences and practices, and exhibited their publications. A new idea was to ask visiting lecturers to accompany the study tour. In the Calvinist Church Mária Wolf and Dénes Dienes shared their knowledge. On the third day, as part of the programme arranged by the host library, Jozsefné Kis, István Dobrossy, László Veress and Béla Lénárt informed the audience about their work. 90 Helyismereti könyvtárosok III. országos tanácskozása : Tata, 1996. július 17-19. / [szerk. ifj.
