The Library Association Local Studies Group Committe England Dear Colleagues, We are very happy to inform you that in July we founded our Local Studies Group as an organisation of the Association of Hungarian Librarians. The committe of our Group would like to say special thanks for your help. As you know this connection between Hungarian and English local studies librarians started in 1992 as a correspondent relationship. In 1993 Erzsébet Gáncs was your guest in Manchester the last Library Association Umbrella Event, and we were very happy that Elizabeth Melrose was able to come to our last Conference in Körmend too. > We know there are many common themes and successes in Local Studies, both in England and Hungary. We would like to make and keep official contact, with your Local Studies Group and would be very thankful if you could support our suggestion. We hope that the contact between our Associations will continue and we will have an opportunity to change our experiences. Yours sincerely Erzsébet Gáncs secretary of LSG 4.
