Application fór Licenee to Eatabliah a National Environmentalist Aaaociation In the pást years repeated attempta have been made in Hungary to form environmentaliat aaaociations; the best known initiative haa been the "Danube Circle" which organized protesta againat the construction of the Bős-Nagymaros hydroelectric plánt and then forced to go illegal. Thia time many reaidenta in Budapeat received a meaaage printed on poatcarda according to which a group of experta aaked Kálmán Ábrahám, chairman of the National Bureau fór fínvironment and Natúré Protection /OKTH/ fór permiaaion to form a "National Environmentalist Aaaociation". Thoae intereated were called together by the organizers fór 8 p.m., Thuraday, 7th May in the Downtown Cultural Centre. At the meeting the deed of foundation waa read out, according to which the objectivea of the aaaociation are the aaaurance of the flow of information, the or- ganization of a Judicial aasiatance aervice and the coordination of the activitiea of all Hungárián environmentalist organizations. Among the contributions numerous technical remarka of experta were made. No answer has come up to now from OKTH fór the application; the planned aaaociation, however, intends to hold its next meeting on the 12th May at the László Rajk College. On the invitation cards, announcing the plán fór establishing the Aasociation, the aignaturea of the following persona occured: Jánoa Vargha, Győző Somogyi, Tamás Tóth, Barnabás Lenkovica, Ádám Magyar, Tamás Dózsa, dr.László Sólyom, László Szekeres, Ferenc Langmár, Pál Dragon, Ágoston Péterffy, László Vit, Mária Herczog.
