Gábor Merényi-Metzger: The most important documents regarding the life of Károly Lenkey Recently many publications have come out about Károly Lenkey army colonel who played an important role in the 1848/49 revolution and war of independence and had several ties to Heves county and Eger. This source publication relates to and complements these publications and covers those authentic documents found in archives that have not been published so far and concern the most important events of Károly Lenkey's life, birth, marriage, death and his military career in the imperial-royal army. This publication includes Károly Lenkey's certificate of baptism dated in Vienna on 28 February 1803, certificate of marriage dated in Vukovár on 6 March 1843, certificate of death dated in Eger on 18 May 1874, also his military personnel (officer) file dated before 1848 relating to his military career. 136
