Еженедельные Сообщения помимо рассказов, историко-литературных и исторических работ, прежде всего опубликовывали стихи. Теологические работы, даже в начальной стадии, можно было читать относительно редко; газета теологов начала свою работу и дорогу более чем 10-тью годами позже (см. Ежегодник Дери Музея 1977 г., стр. 509). Вступительные речи, рассказы путешественников, ораторический обзор, аннотации книг делали разнообразным содержание еженедельника. Еженедельные Сообщения и их Приложения обеспечивали возможность для членов Самообразовательного Кружка публичного выступления. Сотрудники готовились к будним рабочим дням и своим самообразованием хотели дополнить школьный материал, чтобы в будущем, как в религиозных, так и светских должностях хорошо справляться с работой. Из их рядов на протяжении нескольких десятилетий выходили руководители церковных, городских, областных и даже государственных учреждений и предприятий. Undergraduates’ newspaper written in manuscript at the Debrecen college Weekly Bulletin in 1857-1896 by István Lenkey The Selfteaching and Literary Society was reorganized after 8 years of suppression of the lost war of independence. The Weekly Bulletin which had been exixting for 39 years, were launched by the Society on the initiation of Sámuel (Császár) Szeremlei (1837-1924) in the academic year of 1857-58. By launching the newspaper their aim was to give a signal of activity and vitality of the youth, even if within a close circle temporalily beyond the range of the College. The Weekly Bulletin and its enclosures, the Belles-letters Supplement and the Historical Supplement, were issued in handwriting during the whole time, following its aims that their content would have consisted of the papers of the members of the Selfteaching and Literary Society. Yet this the bulletin of the theologist started only ten years later (see Almanach of the Museum ’Déry’, Vol. 1977. pp. 509 and followings). Inaugural addresses, travel reports, oratorical reviews and book- reviews helped to make varied the content of the newspaper. The Weekly Bulletin and its enclosures helped their members to appear before the public with their works. The collaborators prepared for the work-days and by their self-education they wanted to complete the curriculum of the school in order to show their competence in their profession both both ecclesiastic and mundane. From their ranks came leaders of the Church, town, county and in some cases leaders of nationally renowned institutions of the next decades too. 48
