Genus Secunna VÖRÖS, 1983 Secunna partschi (OPPEL, 1861) (Pl. Material: 36 complete and 23 incomplete specimens. Dimensions (mm): Specimen M.91.32. (Text-fig. 37) length: 25.7, width: 23.8, thickness: 14.4. Description - External characters: Medium-sized to large shell, triangular in outline. The sides of triangle are slightly convex, the base is straight or slightly concave. The angle between the lateral margins is about 50°. The length is greater than the width while the thickness is two- Text-fig. 37 - Drawing of thirds of the length. Biconvex form, Securina partschi both valves are equally convex. The maximum width is situated at the anterior margin while the maximum convexity is at the posterior third. The beak is small and erect. There are two strong beak ridges on the pedicle valve, running to the anterior margin. There are two less developed beak ridges on the brachial valve as well, running to half of the length. The planareas are large. The lateral commissures are straight running in the middle of the planareas. The anterior margin is straight. There is a weak capillation on the shell surface. Internal characters (Text-fig. 38): The dental plates are parallel and slightly arched. The delthyrial cavity is barrel-shaped in cross-section. The umbonal cavities are medium-sized and rounded in cross-section. No pedicle collar has been observed. The hinge plates are very thin. There is a deep septalium. The socket is extremely wide and slightly crenulated. The teeth are aligned with the dental plates and slightly crenulated. No denticulum has been observed. The median septum is short. Most of the loop is missing. Remarks: Securina partschi and S. hierlatzica are regarded as synonyms. Previous authors separated the two species on the basis of the outline as well as the size and the concavity of the planareas. However, these features are very variable at both nominal species, so they are not suitable for separation. There is a problem in the nomenclature: Suess used the specific name partschi for the first time in
