Internal structures: Pedicle collar is absent. The inner socket ridge is elongated, bending over the teeth. The crural bases originate from a new base, not from the inner socket ridge. Cardinal process and a short median septum are present. The crural processes unite in two places forming a loop. Secondary structures are also present: the spicula skeleton ÍSMIRNOVA, 1966) is about 2 mm long and massive, showing strange sections (Fig. 11). Fig. 11 Transverse sections through Cruralina sp. (Szilas-árok) Remarks: This group differs from Cruralina aff. cruralinica (described above) in having a more convex brachial valve, finer ribs and fainter growth lines. It also seems to be a diagnostic character that the growth lines do not form steps by intersecting the ribs. Apart from the absence of the pedicle collar, the internal structures of this form are near to those of genus Cruralina. The specimen described above is the only double-valved and the least damaged one in the material; the others are usually larger and wider. In many specimens the ribs are wellmarked and separated by flat areas. Similar ornamentation was found in "terebratulinas" from Sardinia and these were described as a new species " Terebratulina" insueta (Lower Aptian): ". . . they differ from all previously described species of " Terebratulina" in the distinct separation of the ribs by narrow flat areas.
