transverse sections have not been made of these specimens, thus their exact taxonomic position is uncertain. They appear externally to be closely comparable to Terebratulina striata (Senonian) and Terebratulina chrysalis Schloth., however, these two species were assigned to Terebratula chrysalis Schloth. by POPIE L-BARCZYK f 1968) as their internal structures are close to that of terebratulinas. The internal structures of our specimen are quite different. Loriolithyris valdensis de Loriol - MIDDLEMISS, p. 182, pi. A, Fig. 5 Material: 29 pedicle and 23 brachial valves from the Eperkés-hegy and 7 brachial valves from the Szilas-árok. Those collected in the Eperkés-hegy are strongly compressed and fragmentary. Dimensions (mm): pedicle valves : L 30 25 34 29 30 W 24 20 29 23 20 /mm/, 30- • For dimensions of brachial valves, see Fig. 12. Description: As no complete shell was found in the material, the description was based on several specimens. The shell is subpentagonal or triangular in outline with maximum width at the anterior third. The valves are almost equally convex. Maximum convexity of the pedicle valve is near the umbo. The anterior third of the brachial v alve is flat or concave. A median fold with a sulcus along both sides develops at the anterior quarter or fifth of the valve. The umbo is short, straight to suberect. The medium sized, circular foramen is mesothyrid. The lateral comissure is arched in the anterior third. The anterior margin is sulciplicate, strongly arched, rounded (Fig. 13). 20 + »0 Fig. 13 Loriolithyris cf. valdensis lateral view; b= anterior view 40 L/mm/ Fig. 12 Scatter diagram of the relationship of width to length in Loriolithyris cf , valdensis Remarks : On external characters, it can be assigned to Loriolithyris valdensis. The only difference is that the anterior margin is not so highly sulciplicate. The bad preservation, the absence of complete specimens and the ignorance of internal structures make the identification somewhat uncertain. Tropeothyris islarensis Middlemiss (Upper Aptian) is also comparable to this form. However, they differ in several
