In the following paragraph is a description of thes'e foraminiferal zones: 1. Globorotalia pseudobulloides / Globigerina daub.jergen- sis zone (Danian) This represents the lowest recognized planktonic foraminiferal zone in the succession. It is characterized by the flood of Globorotalia pseudobulloides and G. daub.j ergensis , which are taken as index species £or this zone. Other species are found such as: Globigerina triviális , G. trilocu linoides , Globorotalia trinidadensi s , Chiloguembelina mid wayensis and Guembilitria cretacea. This assemblage resembles that described from the type Danian by TROELSEN (1957) and HOPKER (i960) from Denmark, and the Danian of Southern Scandinavia (BERGGREN, 1962). 2. Globorotalia trinidadensis / Globorotalia édita zone This zone is characterized by the flood of Globorotalia trinidadensi s and G. édita together with Globigerina quad- rata , Globorotalia imitata , G. pseudobulloides , G. pseudo- iota , and Chiloguembelina midwayensis midwayensis. This assemblage resembles that described from the Danian of Danemark and Sweden (BRONNIMANN 1953 »TROELSEN 1957, HOPKER I960). This zone is equivalent with the G. trinidadensis zone of BOLLI (1957) in Trinidad. In the same time it is equivalent with the subzone of Globigerina triviális by SUBBOTINA (1953) from Caucasus, Russia. The fauna of this zone resembles to large extent those described from zones Dn^ I and Dn^ II of MOROZOVA in Russia (i960). It is equivalent also to zone "A n of HILLEBRANDT (1962) in Austria and the same time with G. trinidadensis/daub- .1 ergensis zone in Spain (HILLEBRANDT 1965 ). 3. Globorotal i a uncinata zone (Upper Danian) This zone is characterized by the presence of G. uncinata together with Globigerina spiralis , Globorotalia mckanni , G. convexa , G. ehrenbergi , G. varianta .
