Novák Ádám (szerk.): Fontes Memoriae Hungariae IV. Varsóban őrzött magyar vonatkozású oklevelek, 1490–1521 (Debrecen, 2022)
Foreword
IV Of course, the majority of the documents are not unknown to historiography, primarily thanks to the corpus of Maciej Dogiel. However, these, and other texts that are mostly known from documents published in the 19th century, have been supplemented and corrected in several places. Once again, Orsolya Tóth has been of great help, and in this volume, we were also able to count on the work of Tünde Móré. We are indebted to Gábor Pető for the transcription of the documents that were previously published only partially or not at all. Once again, we have published the photos of the charters and their seals in the online database of the “Hungary in Medieval Europe” (Memoria Hungariae) Research Group (Record No.: MH 11609–11785.), where they can be viewed after free registration. The introductory study before the charter texts was written by Marcin Hlebionek (Uniwersytet Mikołaj Kopernika w Toruniu, Instytut Historii i Archiwistyki), who analyses in German the Polish royal seals of the Jagiellonian dynasty. We are also thankful for him for identifying the seals of the Polish dignitaries who confirmed the charters that are published in this volume. Thanks to Balázs Bacsa and Gergő Németh for editing the English and German texts in this volume. Courtesy of the Járom Cultural Association, the manuscript was brought to fruition in its appealing form by Anett Lovas, which is now available online and in a limited number of print versions for the benefit of historiography. With God’s help, following the publication of the present booklet, a revised, edited version of the already published four booklets will be completed this year, entitled Hungarian Diplomatic Archive of Warsaw , supplemented with up-to-da te references, and name and place indices, which will be made available in larger numbers in paper form.
