PAPP Department of Zoology, Hungarian Natural History Museum, and Animal Ecology Research Group of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, H-1088 Budapest, Baross u. 13, Hungary. E-mail: lpapp@nhmus.hu Abstract - First Hungarian record of 17 species of Cecidomyiidae, Bolitophilidae, Sciaridae, Lauxaniidae, Opomyzidae, Agromyzidae, Ephydridae and Heleomyzidae are reported with additional data for other rare Diptera. Schroederella kirilli sp. n. and S. media sp. n. (Heleomyzidae) are described from Hungary. The family Stenomicridae, with Podocera soniae (MERZ et ROHÁCEK, 2005) is new to Hungary. Two genera of Porricondylinae (Dirhiza LOEW, 1850, Holoneurus KIEFFER, 1895) are reported from Hungary for the first time. With ten figures. Key words - Cecidomyiidae, Bolitophilidae, Sciaridae, Acroceridae, Empididae, Hybotidae, Phoridae, Lauxaniidae, Sciomyzidae, Opomyzidae, Agromyzidae, Stenomicridae, Ephydridae, Heleomyzidae, Muscidae, Podocera, Schroederella, faunistic survey, new species, new record, Hungary. INTRODUCTION The critical list of the dipterous insects of our country, "Checklist of the Diptera of Hungary" was published six years ago (PAPP 2001). Our project, aiming at the study of the origin and genesis of the fauna of the Carpathian Basin (diversity, biogeographical hotspots and nature conservation significance collection programme) provided new possibilities for collecting and studies on the formerly captured materials housed in the HNHM (the project started in 2005). A part of new findings is given in the present paper, which was based on specimens captured in 2005 and 2006. In addition, corrections, omissions, misinterpretations, etc., to/of those, which were published in the Checklist, and we have realised in the respective dipterous families hitherto, are also published below.
