FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK Volume 64 2003 pp. 277-284. A new species of Trichocera Meigen from Hungary and further remarks on the Hungarian Trichoceridae (Diptera: Trichoceridae) E. KRZEMINSKA Abstract: A new species of the subgenus Trichocera (Saltrichocera) is described. In addition to 15 species of Trichocera known from Hungary, six other species of this subgenus are recorded: T. (S.) brevis Krzeminska, 2002; 77 (5.) implicata Dahl, 1976; T. (S.) michali Krzeminska, 1999; 77. (S.) montium Stary, 2001; 77. (S.) recondita Stary, 2000 and 77. (S.) sparsa Stary, 1996. Key words: Trichoceridae, Trichocera, new species, new records, Hungary INTRODUCTION The genus Trichocera Meigen, 1803 comprises recently 46 European species, of which 15 were found in Hungary (Krzeminska & Papp 2001, Krzeminska 2001). In the present paper other localities of these species are given and further 7 species new to Hungary are recorded, including a new species described from this country and found later also in Poland and Sweden. The genus Trichocera has been recently (Krzeminska 2002a) reorganized to comprise three subgenera: Trichocera Meigen, 1803 (redefined by Stary 1998), Metatrichocera Dahl, 1967 (original definition updated by Krzeminska 2002a) and Saltrichocera Krzeminska, 2002. The latter subgenus was separated from Metatrichocera sensu Stary (1998) to comprise species related to T. saltator (Harris, 1776). Consequently, the following species recorded previously from Hungary under the subgenus Metatrichocera (Krzeminska & Papp 2001 ; Krzeminska 2001 ) belong now to Saltrichocera: 77. annulata Meigen, 1818, 77. bilobata Stary, 1999, 77. calva Stary, 1999, 77. maculipennis Meigen, 1818, T. obtusa Stary et Martinovsky, 1996, 77. parva Meigen, 1818, T. regelationis (Linnaeus, 1758), 77. rufescens Edwards, 1921, 77. rufulenta Edwards, 1938 and 77. saltator. A current world species list for species of the subgenus Trichocera is given in Krzeminska (2001 a), and for subgenera Metatrichocera and Saltrichocera in Krzeminska (2002a).
