Heptamelus sipitangensis sp. n. (Figs 11, 17) Head black. Clypeus dark brown, labrum brownish white. Antennae brown. Scapus and pedicellus white. Head shining, moderately densely and shallowly punctured. Face smooth and shining. OOL:POL:OCL = 13:11:18. Ratios of antennái segments = 11:13:26:19:18:15:24. Diameter of front ocellus : length of a gena = 7:1. Lateral furrows of the postocellar area sharp and deep, distinctly diverging backwards. Head without hind occipital carina. Clypeus slightly emarginated. Head distinctly contracted behind eyes. Thorax dark brown; tegulae and cenchri white; hind corners of pronotum whitish brown with brownish white apex. Lateral and middle mesonotal lobes shining, densely and shallowly punctured. Mesoscutellum moderately densely and moderately deeply punctured, shining. Mesoscutellar appendage smooth and shining. Postscutellum with only few punctures, smooth and shining. Mesopleuron densely, moderately deeply and moderately roughly punctured, shining. Length of cenchrus : distance between cenchri = 5:7. Head and thorax covered with short, moderately dense whitish pubescence about 2/3 times as long as the diameter of front ocellus. Legs entirely yellowish white. Ratios of hind tarsal segments without claws = 44:12:10:5:11. Length of inner hind tibial spur : length of hind basitarsus = 7:22. Claws with long inner teeth, about as long as the apical (Fig. 17). Abdomen yellowish white; 9th abdominal segment and 8th tergite brownish black. Sawsheath dark brown. Abdomen shining, with shallow undefined coriaceous surface sculpture. Wings hyaline, venation and stigma dark brown. Sawsheath straight and long (Fig. 11). Length: 6.7 mm. Length of fore wing: 4.4. mm. Holotype: female: "Malaysia: Sabah, Sipitang, Mendolong AIL 30.IV. 1988, leg. S. Adebratt". The holotype is deposited in the collection of the Zoological Institute of the Lund University. The new species is closely related to Heptamelus javanus Enslin, 1912. Heptamelus javanus Enslin, 1912 has middle mesonotal lobe with yellow hind and lateral margins. Its hind tibia with black ring and hind basitarsus wide black apical band. Sternites brownish yellow, tergites black, with light brown lateral margins but tergites 1-3 with wide brown hind margin. The new species has middle mesonotal lobe entirely dark brown, hind tibia and tarsus without black colour and abdominal segments 1-7 entirely yellowish white.
