Head contracted behind to the half of the eyes, densely and roughly punctured, shining but without interspaces. OOL:POL:OCL = 1.3:1.0:1.0. Ratios of the antennái segments = 10:5:31:33:32:28:26:25:24. Clypeus roundly emarginated to 1/3 of its median length. Middle lobes of mesonotum moderately densely and moderately deeply punctured with shining interspaces about 1/2-1 times as large as a puncture. Lateral lobes finely and moderately densely punctured, strongly shining. Their inner half sparsely, outer half relatively densely punctured. Mesoscutellum moderately densely and moderately deeply punctured with an unpunctured area in the middle. Postscutellum unpunctured with faint traces of transverse sculpture. Mesopleuron densely, deeply and uniformly punctured. Mesosternum finely and sporadically punctured, shining. Length of a cenchrus:distance between cenchri = 1.0:1.0. Ratios of the tarsal segments (without claws) = 24:14:11:6:14. Claws simple without inner tooth. First abdominal tergite smooth and shining, the other tergites with transverse surface sculpture. Penis valve is shown in Fig. 2. Length: 8.5 mm. Length of the fore wing: 8.0 mm. Holotype — Male: Mt. Takaosan, Tokyo, 10. IV. 1979, T. Niisato. The holotype is deposited in the National Science Museum, Tokyo. This species runs to Dolerus albolineolatus Haris et Blank, 1996. The two species differ in the structure of penis valve and Dolerus albolineolatus has lateral lobes of mesonotum entirely red and middle lobes black while the new species has black mesonotum with red marked middle lobes. Key to the Japanese Dolerus Panzer, 1801 species Females 1 (12) Body mainly or entirely black, abdomen always black. Number of serrulae: 15-24. Serrulae without lateral spines.
