There are species where it is noted: it was mentioned before only "in tables and dis­tribution lists". This refers to the following articles: De Meyer (1992: 93) compiled a table which included unpublished data in addition to literature records; the table of Kozánek & Belcari (1995: 174) contains unpublished data as well and De Meyer (1996) issued a catalogue where countries of distribution are listed regardless of the reliability of the original publication. Locality data are provided as present on the labels, additional notes are put in square brackets where necessary. Pipunculus lichtwardti Kozánek, 1981 Differential diagnosis — Male: Pipunculus lichtwardti male differs from the male of closely related Pipunculus thomsoni in the following characters: Lateral greyish polli­nosity extending towards the middle of terga 2-5, forming greyish margin of brownish tergal discs. Terga 2-3 completely dusted, terga 4-5 with narrow shining black strip along hind margin. Surstyli at base narrower than in Pipunculus thomsoni continually tapering towards the apex. Distal hook of phallic guide turned ventrally (towards phal­lus). Ejaculatory apodeme weakly fan-shaped. Locality data of the specimens studied are given in the list of species. Body length: 4.6-4.8 mm. Head: Face black, greyish pollinose. Frons rather narrow, black with brownish polli­nosity; 1.2 to 1.4 times length of holoptic region. Ocellar triangle small, equilateral, shin­ing black. Occiput black with brownish pollinosity in upper, greyish pollinosity in lower half. All antenna! segments black; antennái segment 2 dorsally with 4-5 shorter, ven­trally with 3-5 longer dark hairs. Antennái segment 3 short and blunt. Arista black, about twice as long as antennái segment 3. Thorax: Mesonotum black, covered with sparse yellow-gold soft hairs, densely brownish pollinose, all margins with brownish grey pollinosity. Humerus black, brown­ish pollinose, posteriorly with few soft pale hairs. Pleuron bare, black, brownish grey pollinose. Propleural fan of hairs well developed, with 7-9 long pale hairs. Scutellum black, brownish pollinose, covered with sparse short pale hairs, hind margin with 16-20 longer pale hairs. Postscutellum black, sparsely greyish pollinose. Legs: Coxae black, apically yellowish brown, brownish grey pollinose. Fore coxae apically with few pale hairs, mid coxae apically with 4-6 long dark hairs. Trochanters black, with few longer pale hairs. Femora black with yellowish apices, shining ventral­ly and po steroventrally, otherwise brownish grey pollinose. Fore femur ventrally in dis­tal third with double row of 6-8 short black spines. 1 posteromedial row of moderately long pale hairs over entire length. Mid femur ventrally in distal half with 9-11 short black spines, 1 anteromedial and 1 posteromedial rows of long pale hairs over its length. Hind femur thickened distally, ventrally in distal third to half with double row of 8-10 short black spines, 1 anteroventral, 1 anteromedial, 1 posteroventral and 1 posteromedi­al rows of longer pale hairs. Posteromedial rows of mid and hind femora distally with admixture of black hairs. All femora dorsally with double row of short pale hairs. Tibiae yellowish brown to brown, hind tibiae with 4-5 anteromedial bristles. Tarsi yellowish brown, last tarsomere dark brown. Pulvilli pale yellowish, about as long as last tar­somere. Claws pale yellowish with black tips. Wings: Length 5.0-5.2 mm. M7 absent, Mi moderately sinuate. Costal section ratio C3:C4 = 1.0:0.8.
