Abdomen: Tergite 1 black, entirely brownish grey pollinose, laterally with fan of long pale hairs. Terga 2-5 black, brownish pollinose on disc, laterally with extensive greyish spots tapering towards the middle of tergite and forming narrow greyish hind margin. Terga 2-5 with sparse short pale hairs, lateral hairs are considerably longer than hairs on dorsum of tergites. Syntergosternite 8 dark brown to black with large membranous area extending from near dorsal right edge of syntergosternite 8 almost to the edge of epandrium, loosely ballooning out dorsally, with distinct keel extending to the apex of membranous area. Genitalia: Epandrium and surstyli black. Surstyli densely covered with short microtrichia, slightly asymmetrical, in lateral view upturned in distal third. Inner surface of both surstyli with long bristles over the medial edge and apex (Figs 1A-C). Phallic guide weakly sclerotized, asymmetrical with distinct distal hook (Fig. ID). Phallus trifid, not toothed, weakly sclerotized throughout basal half (Fig. IF). Ejaculatory apodeme weakly fan-shaped, symmetrical (Fig. IE). Fig. 1. Scale: 0.1 mm Pipunculus omissinervis Becker, 1889 Differential diagnosis — Female: Pipunculus omissinervis is closely related to Pipunculus campestris, the species can only be recognised on the differences of terminalia. In female of Pipunculus omissinervis, piercer of ovipositor is straight, not curved, continually tapering towards the apex.
