Description of the male holotype — Body 2.9 mm long. Antenna as long as head, mesosoma and two-thirds of carapace combined and with 25 antennomeres. First flagelomere three times and second flagellomere four times as long as broad, i.e. second flagellomere one-fourth longer than first flahgellomere (Fig. 14); further flagellomeres gradually shortening so that penultimate flagellomere subcubic, i.e. slightly longer than broad (Fig. 14). - Head in dorsal view (Fig. 15) less transverse, 1.6 times as broad as long, eye somewhat longer than temple, latter distinctly rounded, occiput hardly excavated. Ocelli almost round, OOL about one-fourth as long as POL. Clypeus 2.3 times as wide as high medially, its lower margin faintly pointed medially (Fig. 16). Eye in lateral view 1.5 times as high as wide, beyond eye temple evenly broad and as wide as eye. Head polished, face dispersely and finely hairpunctured. Mesosoma in lateral view 1.35 times as long as high. Notaulix evenly deep and finely crenulate, precoxal suture smooth. Propodeum rugulose, postero-medially with a distinct areola (Fig. 17). - Hind femur 3.8 times as long as broad medially. Hind basitarsus as long as tarsomeres 2-3 and half of tarsomere 4 combined. Hind basal claw as in Fig. 23. Fore wing as long as body. Pterostigma (Fig. 18) 2.8 times as long as wide and issuing r distally from its middle. 1-R1 almost as long as pterostigma, r half as long as width of pterostigma, 2-R1 nearly as long as 1-R1 and reaching tip of wing. Carapace in dorsal view (Fig. 19) 1.7 times as long as broad medially. Pair of basal keels less converging and extending to fore half of tergite. First and second sutures distinct. Tergites 1 and 2 equal in length, tergite 3 somewhat shorter than tergite 2 and its hind margin rounded. Tergites 1-2 longitudinally striate (Fig. 19), tergite 3 polished, latero-basally striolate. Head black, mesosoma bicoloured: dorsally (mesonotum, scutellum, metanotum, propodeum) brownish black, otherwise reddish yellow with brownish diffusion on pronotum and mesopleuron. Carapace reddish yellow. Legs yellow, fifth tarsomeres brownish. Scape brownish, pedicel brownish yellow, flagellum blackish brown. Wings hyaline, pterostigma light brown, veins pale to brownish yellow. Female and host unknown (host's foodplant Clematis vitaiba). Distribution: Spain. The new species, Triaspis hispanicus sp. n., is nearest to T. efluctus Papp, 1998 (Switzerland; Papp 1998b) considering their long second section of metacarpal vein (2-R1), the two species are distinguished by the following features keyed: 1 (2) Pterostigma issuing vein r just distally from its middle, Î-R1 or length of marginal cell along metacarpal vein somewhat longer than pterostigma (Fig. 20). Temple in dorsal view less receded, head in dorsal view 1.8 times as broad as long (Fig. 21). Clypeus 1.6 times as wide below as high medially, its lower margin truncate (Fig. 22). Striation of carapace strong (Fig. 24). Carapace black. 6: 3.5 mm T. efluctus Papp 2 (1) Pterostigma issuing vein r clearly distally from its middle, 1-R1 or length of marginal cell along metacarpal vein just shorter than pterostigma (Fig. 18). Temple in dorsal view more receded, head in dorsal view 1.6 times, as broad as long (Fig. 15). Clypeus 2.3 times as wide below as high medially, its lower margin faintly pointed medially (Fig. 16). Striation of carapace less strong (Fig. 19). Carapace reddish yellow, d: 2.9 mm T. hispanicus sp. n.
