Triaspis metacarpalis Tobias, 1986 (Moldavia, Hungary) is also near to the new species, their distinction is also keyed: 1 (2) Temple in dorsal view less receded (Fig. 25). Pterostigma issuing radial vein (r) from its middle (Fig. 26). Second tergite transverse, 1.9 times as wide basally as long medially, tergites 1-2 strongly striated (Fig. 27). Carapace black. 2: 2.1-3.5 mm T. metacarpalis Tobias 2 (1) Temple in dorsal view more receded (Fig. 15). Pterostigma issuing radial vein (r) distally from its middle (Fig. 18). Second tergite less transverse, 1.6 times as wide basally as long medially, tergites 1-2 less strongly striated (Fig. 19). Carapace reddish yellow, d: 2.9 mm T. hispanicus sp. n. Triaspis mervarki sp. n. d (Figs 28-34) Material examined (2d) — Male holotype and one male paratype: Kenya, Mt. Elgon National Park, near Chepnyalli Cave, swept in dry evergreen mountaine forest, 2500 m, 28 January 1992, leg. O. Merkl et G. Várkonyi (No. 507, see also itinerary report by Merkl 1993). Holotype and paratype are deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum (Department of Zoology), Budapest, Hym. Typ. Nos 7874 (holotype) and 7875 (paratype). Etymology — The species name "mervarki" is an abbreviated compilation of the two collectors's name, Dr. Ottó Merkl (coleopterist) and Dr. Gergely Várkonyi (hymenopterist), of the new species. Description of the male holotype — Body 2.8 mm long. Antenna about as long as body and with 22 antennomeres. First flagellomere four times as long as broad apically, second flagellomere a bit longer than first flagellomere, further flagellomeres gradually shortening so that penultimate flagellomere 1.2 times as long as broad. - Head in dorsal view (cf. Fig. 21) transverse, 1.8 times as broad as long, eye and temple equal in length, temple rounded, occiput excavated. Ocelli small, just elliptic, OOL slightly longer than POL. Clypeus twice as wide as high, its lower margin faintly convex and laterally pointed. Eye in lateral view 1.7 times as high as wide, temple beyond eye evenly wide and just less wide than eye. Head polished. Face hairpunctured, interspaces about as great as punctures. Mesosoma in lateral view 1.4 times as long as high. Precoxal suture rugulose anteriorly. Propodeum rugose, areola basalis clearly carinated, postero-laterally with a pair of tubercules (Fig. 29). - Hind femur 4.1 times as long as broad (Fig. 30). Hind tarsal claw as in Fig. 31. Fore wing one-fifth longer than body. Pterostigma (Fig. 32) three times as long as wide and issuing r just distally from its middle, r longer than half width of pterostigma, 1-R1 as long as pterostigma, 2-R1 half as long as 1-R1 and just not reaching tip of wing. Carapace as long as mesosoma, in dorsal view (Fig. 33) 1.6 times as long as broad at second suture, somewhat broadening posteriorly. Pair of keels extending to basal third of first tergite. Second tergite longer than first tergite; second suture indistinct. Tergites
