S. Mahunka szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 58. (Budapest, 1997)

The values were obtained by dividing the length of the studied morphological part by its width. On the basis of the examined only 7 specimens, I suggest to regard these differences as variety having no specific value. Cleptes femoralis Mocsáry, 1890 Cleptes femoralis Mocsáry, 1890: 47 (1 cT). Holotype, cT: Turkey: Brussa (Budapest). Cleptes femoralis: Móczár 1997a: 37. Cleptes antakyensis Linsenmaier, 1968; 7; Móczár, 1997a: 37 (synonymized). Specimens examined: holotype (c?) and 1 9,10 c? (detailed I.e.). Turkey: Asia Minor, Mut, 27-30 V. 1967 (J. Schmidt), "Cleptes scutellaris turceyanus Linsenmaier Paratype 9 det. Lins. 1973" (not published), 1 9 (Linz), Antakya, As. Türk., 6. VI. 1965 (J. Schmidt), "Cleptes jordanicus Lins. Paratype S . J. Schmidt det. 1965", 1 c? (Linz). F. Gusenleitner kindly loaned me some Linsenmaier's paratypes originating from J. Schmidt's collection. One of them (Mut) proved to be identical with Cleptes antakyensis Linsenmaier's original diagnosis (1968: 7). It seems necessary to give again the description (9), because the earlier text (Móczár 1997a: 37) was based on a female from Ürgüp which somewhat differs from Linsenmaier's description, surely due to variation of the species. The main characters of this specific, third known female, are as follows. Vertex reddish coppery with green and purple tint. Pedicel and F-I, partly fore tibiae yellowish, middle and hind tibiae yellowish brown. Pronotum flame red with golden tints, similarly to scutellum. Mesonotum slightly violet, postscutellum dark brownish. Mesopleuron greenish blue, but propodeum of bluish violet. T-III—IV black without metallic colour. Frontal sulcus narrow, not so sharply margined as in the males (Fig. 5) but extends from clypeus to front ocellus. Punctures of frons remarkably smaller and denser than on pronotum. Lower margin of clypeus truncate. The male specimen (Antakya) also belong to Cleptes femoralis. Easy to separate it from the similarly coloured Cleptes jordaniens by the lack of the depression or pit-row along the posterior margin of pronotum {Leiocleptes subgenus) and the sharply margined frontal sulcus extending from clypeus to front ocellus (Fig. 5), through this sulcus is slightly narrower and less deep than on the holotype. Cleptes maroccanus Linsenmaier, 1987 Cleptes maroccanus Linsenmaier, 1987: 134 (9). Holotypus, 9: Morocco (Luzern). Cleptes maroccanus: Móczár, 1997a: 38. Specimen examined: 1 9. Morocco: "Maroc 19. 6. 84. M. Atlas Ifrane leg. Linsenmaier", "Cleptes maroccanus Lins. det. 84 9 Paratype" (Luzern). The following characters are being required for completing the key (Móczár 1997a: 31), which were perceived during the examination of the paratype kindly loaned by the author. Pedicel and F-I nearly entirely yellowish, tibiae yellowish brown with golden tint. Propodeum (metathorax) black, similarly to consimilis, not "grünblau". Face black, not golden red. T-III with moderate reddish tint only laterally. Such minor differences between the holo- and paratypes often appear also in other species.
