Ascogaster annularis (Nees, 1816) — Frequent and distributed in Europe except Scandinavia (Huddleston 1984: 360). In Hungary frequent to common, it was reared several times from its four lepidopterous catarpillar hosts: Pandemis heparana Denis et Schiffermüller (Tortricidae), Recurvaria leucatella Clerck, R. nanella Denis et Schiffermüller, SpHonota ocellana Denis et Schiffermüller (Gelechiidae); the food-plants of the caterpillar hosts were either apple or pear (details see in Papp 19946: 496). — Localities: 1/1: 10 females + 11 males from 9 localities — 11 /1: 11 females + 2 males from 3 localities — II/2: 1 female + 1 male: Gyöngyös — IV (Transylvania): 1 male: Herkulesfürdö (= Bäile Herculane) — VI/1: 6 females + 3 males from 2 localities — VI/2: 8 females + 3 males from two localities — V-VII and IX, most frequent in May. Ascogaster armata Wesmael, 1835 — Reported from Great Britain, Belgium, Netherland, France, Bohemia, Slovakia, Hungary and Italy. In Hungary not frequent, known from nine localities. — Localities: 1/1: 1 female (in Papp 1991: 649 as A. abdominalis Dahlbom, misidentification): Bátorliget, swept in Salicetum — 1 1/ 1: 1 female: Keszthely. 1 male (det. Huddleston): Németbánya, Jáger-völgy. 1 male: Pilismarót — II/2: 1 male: Kelemér, swept in Cynodonto-Festucetum pseudovinae. 1 female (det. Huddleston 1983): Nagyvisnyó — 11 1/2 (Transylvania): 1 male (det. Huddleston): Betlen (= Beclean) — V/l: 1 female + 1 male: Kőszeg — VI/1: 2 females + 1 male: Komló, Zobákpuszta — VI/2: 1 male: Mernye, Szana. Ascogaster bicarinata (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1838) — Distributed in South Europe (Spain, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaidzhan). New to the fauna of Hungary. — Localities: 1/1: 1 male: Djakovár (= Diakovo, Croatia). 2 females: Körösladány — II/ 1: 1 male: Budapest Sas-hegy. 1 female + 1 male (1 female paralectotype of A. rostratus Szépligeti, Hym. Typ. No. 1081, in Budapest Museum): Budapest, Sváb-hegy. 1 male + 4 females: Pilismarót — II/2: 1 female: Bódvaszilas, Vecsem-forrás. 1 male: Komjáti, Alsó-hegy. 1 female: Szin, Kopolya-tetö — III/l (Slovakia): 1 female: Újbánya (= Nová Bana) -—VI/2: 1 male: Simontornya — V-VII. Ascogaster bidentula Wesmael, 1835 — A less frequent species, distributed in Europe (reported from eleven countries: Huddleston 1984: 366, Capek and Lukas" 1989: 42), Russia (Far East Territory) and Japan; species with a disjunct area? In Hungary reared from one caterpillar host: Pandemis sp. (Tortricidae). New to the fauna of Hungary. — Localities: 1/1: 1 female: Nyíregyháza, Ilona-tanya, 4 May 1984, ex Pandemis sp. 31 May 1984 (food-plant of the host: Malus domestica), leg. et educ. K. Balázs. 1 male: Ujszentmargita, swept in Festuco pseudovinae-Quercetum — II/ 1: 3 females: Szár, Fáni-völgy — 1 1/2: 1 male: Jósvafő, Tengerszem. 4 males: Mátraháza, Tetves-rét — III/l (Slovakia): 1 female: Rabcsa (= Rabca). Ascogaster brevicornis Wesmael, 1835 (= Chelonus similis Nees, 1816) — It seems a frequent species in Europe, reported from eleven countries. In Hungary taken in twelve localities of which eight are in mountain and hilly districts. — Localities: 1/1: 1 female: Budapest, Orczy-kert. 1 male: Egyek, Ohati-erdő. 1 female: Dévaványa, Kéthalom — II/ 1: 2 females + 1 male: Bakonybél, Gerence-völgy. 1 male: Budapest, Hűvösvölgy. 1 female: Porva, Cuha-völgy — 1 1/2: 1 female: Kemence, Királyháza. 1 female + 1 male: Gödöllő, Máriabesnyő. 1 female: Miskolc, Lők-völgy — V/l: 2 females: Kőszeg, Alsó-rétek — VI/2: 1 female: Nagykanizsa, Csónakázó tó. 1 female: Somodor, Somodorpuszta, taken on Heracleum sphondylium — III and VI—VIII. Ascogaster canifrons Wesmael, 1835 — In Europe sporadic to frequent, in the Palaearctic Region distributed eastwards as far as Mongolia.
