Four new species of Platygaster Latreille, 1809 (Hymenoptera: Platygastridae) P. N. Buhl Four new species of Platygaster Latreille, 1809 (Hymenoptera: Platygastridae) - The following species are described as new to the science: Platygaster lubomasneri sp. n. male from India, P. molsensis sp. n. female from Denmark, P. planoides sp. n. female from Denmark, and P. schlkki sp. n. female from Denmark. During my examination of about 3000 specimens belonging to the large genus Platygaster some distinct new species appeared, four of which are described below. Platygaster lubomasneri sp. n. (Figs 1-3) Male. Head from above (Fig. 1) twice as broad as long: vertex finely coriaceous; occiput coriaceous and with distinct longitudinal striation posteriorly. Head from in front 1.25 times as broad as high; frons with a few transverse striae around antennái sockets and a fine longitudinal line from anterior ocellus to antennái insertions, finely coriaceous except medially. Malar space about one-third the length of an eye, temples hardly as long as an eye; OOL:POL:LOL = 3:6:3. Head with sparse hairs on temples and with long hairs around mouthparts. Antenna (Fig. 2) with flagellar segment swollen and 3rd to 7th identical; pedicel with a few long hairs as long as the width of segment, whole flagellum with dense hairs as long as two-fifths the width of segments, 2nd flagellar segment with a single conspicuous long hair. Thorax (Fig. 1) narrower than head (9:10) and higher than wide (10:9), 1.7 times as long as wide. Pronotum medially smooth; sides of pronotum hairy, with fan-like rugosity except dorsal and posterior margins which are smooth. Mesoscutum anteriorly with traces of admedian lines, midlobe faintly coriaceous, lateral lobes almost smooth; notauli complete, midlobe prolonged and just not reaching base of scutellum in a fine point (Fig. 3). Mesoscutum with sparse hairs laterally and with some long hairs covering scutoscutellar grooves. Mesopleura with longitudinal striations covering the upper third anteriorly, the upper two-thirds posteriorly. Scutellum (Fig. 3) convex, above level of mesoscutum, coriaceous and with about 10 short furrows anteriorly on convex part which is sparsely but evenly hairy. Metapleura and sides of propodeum densely hairy. Propodeal keels parallel but not wide apart, area in between smooth and shiny except for two short longitudinal carinae anteriorly, dorsal areas lateral of keels dull and bare.
