bright yellow excepting its blackish apex. Both these features are unique within the species of the c arbon ariu s -group . Locality - 11/1: 1 S : Nagykovácsi, Nagyszénás, Di. The VITRIPENNIS-group Apanteles acasta Nixon, 1973 - Outer distal side of fifth joint of fore tarsus with a curved spinule, opposite of spinule tarsal joint not emarginated. Inner (or longer) spur of middle tibia two-thirds to three-fourths as long as wide at base, its side feebly arched. Penultimate joint of antenna 1.5-1.6 times longer than broad. Ocelli relatively less large, distance between fore and a hind ocelli about as long as diameter of hind ocellus; posterior Imaginary tangent to fore ocellus before or at most touching two hind ocelli. Length 3 mm. - Described recently from England on the basis of a series of specimens (29 g + 2 S). Since its description it was recorded from Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria and Greece. New to the fauna of Hungary. Its 8 localities in Hungary Indicate that the species is rather frequent in our country. Apanteles aletta Nixon, 1973 - This species is well characterized by the conspicuous pubescence of flagellum, i.e. length of the unusually erected hairs equal to half breadth of flagellar joints. Head in dorsal view behind eyes rather constricted. First tergite moderately narrowing from base to apex. Inner spur of hind tibia distinctly longer than outer spur. Hind coxa black, apically yellow. Body 3.5 mm long. - Distribution: Besides Finland it was obtained in Slovakia, this is its second known distributional datum. Its occurrence in Hungary is expected. New to the fauna of Slovakia. Apanteles sublateralis Tobias, 1976, Braconidae of Caucasus Mts., p. 185 (in key) and 243 (description), o_ cf , locus typicus: Tsav, Kafanskly rayon, Armenia (USSR) (in Russian); abbreviated synonymization in PAPP 1983a: 260). - Holotype in the Zoological Institute, Academy of Sciences, Leningrad. Outer surface of third coxa with relatively rough and dense punctation. Mesosoma in lateral view 1.3-1.4 times longer than high. Hypopygium in lateral view truncate. Ocelli large, distance between fore and a hind ocelli shorter than diameter of an ocellus. Very similar to A. urolus Papp, 1983, described from the Netherlands. The distinctive features of the two closely related species are tabulated below: A. aliphera Nixon 1. Head in dorsal view transverse, twice to almost twice broader than long, behind eyes moderately to clearly constricted. 2. First tergite less attenuating posteriorly, its hind end slightly more than half as wide as its basal width. Second tergite less transverse. 3. Pterostigma issuing radial vein more distally from its middle, rl slightly to distinctly longer than cuqul. D wide, distinctly one-fourth wider than high. 4. Hind coxa black except its reddish yellow apex. Third tergite reddish yellow to yellow, medio-basally brown to blackish. A. urolus Papp 1. Head In dorsal view less transverse to subcubic, 1.7-1.8 times broader than long, behind eyes rounded. 2. First tergite more attenuating posteriorly, its hind end less than half as wide as its basal width. Second tergite more transverse. 3. Pterostigma issuing radial vein less distally from its middle, rl and cuqul equal in length or former indistinctly shorter. D less wide, one-fifth wider than high. 4. Distal third to half of hind coxa testaceous to fulvous. Third tergite black, only its hind end and lateral margin reddish yellow or yellow.
