New genus and species of Nebriini (Coleoptera, Carabidae) from China By V. G. SHILENKOV and O. L. KRYZHANOVSKIJ (Received May 19, 1982) Abstract: Archileistobrius hwangtienyuni , new genus and new species, is described from China, Prov. Sichuan. In the material collected by the Soviet-Chinese expedition to Sichuan in 1955 one specimen of very interesting Nebriini was found, which has some primitive morphological characters and its taxonomical position must be placed as intermediate between Nebria and Leistus . On the other hand it rather closely related to the relict Chinese genus Archastes Jedl., but differs from it in some importent characters. This specimen is described below as a new genus and species. Genus Archileistobrius Shilenkov & Kryzhanovskij, gen.n. Body dark, without metallic lustre. Head with large prominent eyes, not thickened, neck distinctly constricted. Antennae long and slender, in male almost reaching the apex of elytra. Labrum transverse, with 6 setae, mandibles normal. Penultimate segment of labial palpi with 3 setae. Tooth of mentum (Fig. 3) short, shallow emarginate. Ligula (Fig. 2) long, with two short, protrudent at sides, teeth at apex. Pronotum almost round, lateral and postangular setae present. Elytra strongly convex, elliptic, with entirely rounded shoulders. Legs long and slender, fore tibiae of male feebly dilated. Prosternai process bordered. Lateral sides of pro-, meso- and metasternum and 1-2. segments of abdomen with sparse but coarse punctures. Aedeagus dilated at apex, with sagittal aileron. The primitive structure of aedeagus with sagittal aileron, pronotum with rounded hind angles, strongly convex elliptic elytra, long bifurcate at apex ligula sharply distinguish the new genus from Nebria . The structure of aedeagus vividly resembles those of some species of Leistus , ligula with long bifurcate apex occupies intermediate position between Nebria and Leistus . Archileistobrius is closely related to Archastes Jedl., but strongly differs in the structure of the aedeagus, which in the latter species is with coarse transverse incisions in the middle part. Archileistobrius hwangtienyuni Shilenkov & Kryzhanovskij sp.n. (Fig. 1) Park piceous, shining, antennae, palpi, mandibles, tibiae and tarsi red brwon. Head with prominent eyes and with distinct constriction behind them; frontal furrows short and flat, almost
