Dark piceous to black, head with indistinct dark red frontal spot, antennae, palpi and legs piceous. Head faintly thickened, with moderately prominent eyes, frontal furrows flat and wide, with slight transverse wrinkles and small sparse punctures, which extending on front. Microsculpture consisting of short transverse meshes. Antennae long and slender, extending the middle of elytra (fig. 108). Submentum with row of 9-10 setae. 1 mm Figs 155-157. Form of pronotum. 155 - Nebria faldermanni faldermanni Mén., o, Talysh, 156 - N. faldermanni bagrovdaghensis ssp.n., o, paratype, 157 - N. faldermanni elbursiaca Bod., o, N . Iran Pronotum (fig. 118) moderately convex, 1.40-1.50 times as wide as head, 1.37-1.46 times as wide as long, at sides slightly rounded and sinuated before rectangular or acute hind angles, apical angles weakly prominent, rounded at apex; lateral margins rather widely flattened and reflexed, median line deep, transverse impressions distinct, basal foveae deep and narrow, extending on disk of pronotum, restricted from outside by indistinct elevation; basal area, lateral and apical margins with rather dense and coarse punctures, which from basal foveae extending on disk and becoming here smaller and denser. Microsculpture dense, consisting of very short transverse meshes, moreover disk of pronotum covered by net of fine wrinkles and punctures. Elytra elongate ovate, flattened, shoulders slightly prominent, 1.39-1.50 times as wide as pronotum, 1.62-1.73 times as long as wide, widest in apical third, lateral border evidently flattened and reflexed in basal half, forming with basal border very obtuse angle. Striae deep, densely punctate, intervals moderately convex, interval 3 with 4-5 very small setiferous pores, strongly ajoining stria 3, scutellar pores present, rarely 1 pore absent asymmetrically; apical carina strongly reduced. Microsculpture very faint, consists of short transverse meshes. Lateral sides of prosternum very faintly and sparsely punctate, lateral sides of mesosternura, metasternum and sternit 1 with more coarse punctures. Base of hind coxae with 2-3 setae, sternits 3-5 with 3-6 setae on each side, anal sternit in male and female with 4 setae on hind margin. Legs long and slender, fore tarsi in male slightly dilated, segment 4 of hind tarsi hardly extending from below. Aedeagus (figs 139-142) rather stout, moderately curved, with narrow apical lamella. Paramerae (Figs 149, 150, 153, 154) wider then in N. patruelis Chaud. Length 13.4-14.8 mm. Width 4.9-5.6 mm. Holotype, cf, in collection of CHAUDOIR, with label "Ex Musaeo CHAUDOIR".
