Apanteles elpis Nixon, 1973 (=girkanus Tobias, 1976) - Thorax elongated, in lateral view nearly twice to twice as long as high. Tergites 1-2 polished, at most and exceptionally with fine aciculation. An unusually dark-coloured species. Head-mesosoma-metasoma black, sternites 1-2(3) yellowish brown to brown, tegula black. Legs brownish yellow, coxae black, femora (l-2-)3 blackish, hind tibia apically and tarsus infuscate to blackish. - Distribution: Great Britain, Finland, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Azerbaidzhan (USSR) and Mongolia.
