Remarks: In the ^enus Zygoribatula , the shape of lamella and translamella is a very important diagnostic character at the species level, but we have to consider also the combination of other morphological characters. At a glance, the form of lamella and translamella of the newly described species resembles that of Z. heterotricha Mahunka, 1978 described from Dominica. In addition, the sensillus, in both species, has a smooth club-shaped head. However, they can be readily distinguished by shape of the rostrum (apex ending in an acute angle in Z. heterotricha ), form of notogastral hairs (barbed in Z. heterotricha) as well as size and shape of area porosae. In Egypt, the genus Zygoribatula Berlese, 1916 is represented by four species: Z. undulata (Berlese, 1917) (= Oribatula/Zygoribatula/ tadrosi Popp, 1960); Z. sayedi Elbadry et Nasr, 1974; Z. tameya Eibadry et Nasr, 1974; and Z. tritici Elbadry et Nasr, 1974. Haplozetidae Grandjean, 1936 Xylobates lophotrichus (Berlese, 1904). - III (6) Distribution: Europe, North America. Oribatellidae Jacot, 1925 *Paralamellobates ceylanicus (Oudemans, 1915). - III (6). Distribution: S. East Asia (Indonesia). REFERENCES AOKI, J. (1964): Some Oribatid mites (Acarina) from Laysan Island. - Pacific Insects, 6: 649-664. BALOGH, J.
