Male. Length 380 um, width 290 yam. Setae on podo- and opisthonotum and position of pores as in females. Lengths of setae of opisthonotum and distances between setae of singular rows in urn as follows: SI 27 Zl 13 1 1 13 40 52 48 S2 32 Z2 13 12 14 35 27 30 S3 36 Z3 27 13 22 45 30 25 S4 52 Z4 42 14 25 45 20 Z5 30 15 25 45 16 58 Systematic position: This species resembles Zercon balearicus Athias-Henriot, 1961 from which it differs by the following features: Zercon saphenus sp. nov. 1. Seta SI twice longer than seta Zl with hyaline apices. 2. Distance between pore Po3 is equal to distance 16-16. 3. Pore po2 on line connecting setae s4s5. Z. balearicus Athias-Henriot 1. Seta SI smooth and equal to seta Zl. 2. Distance between pore Po3 is equal to distance Z5-Z5. 3. Pore po2 on line connecting setae s3i5. Material examined: Holotype (<j>): No. 37-2, 5 E. Paratypes (çoj: from the same sample; 4 Ex. Paratypes (<j><j>): No. 37-1. Zercon secundus sp. n. Description of holotype. Female. Length 460 urn, width 310 urn. Dorsal side (Fig. 6). Setae: Podonotum with seta il distinctly barbed, marginal setae of podonotum delicately barbed and flattened with hyaline apices. Remaining setae of podonotum barbed and broadened terminally. Opisthonotum with marginal setae of row R and setae Z5 delicately barbed and flattened with hyaline apices. Remaining setae of opisthonotum barbed and considerably broadened almost from insertion. All these setae terminally flattened with hyaline ending. Apices of setae 12-15 reaching insertion of next setae. Setae 16 removed 95 um from each other. Distance between seta Z5 and 1 6 28 um.
