Steinmann, and 2 females.­Deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. Gonolabis pueUa sp. nov. Discussion: Male shining blackish red or blackish brown; antennae dark brown, pro­notum blackish, but with reddish posterior margin; legs light brown or yellowish brown, femora banded brown; forceps reddish brown. Head broad, broader than pronotum, post­frontal and coronal sutures distinct. Eyes relatively large, about as long as scape. Antennae broken; 1st joint short, shorter than distance between antennái bases; 3rd joint longer than 4th. Pronotum more or less transverse, a little broader than long, all margins straight, and all angles rounded; median longitudinal sulcus distinct. Tegmina and wings entirely ab­sent. Mesonotum broad, with straight posterior margin, punctured. Metanotum transverse. Abdomen visibly expanded at abdominal tergites 7-8. Sides of tergites not carinate dorso­lateraUy. Ultimate tergite broad, posterior margin typical. Penultimate sternite with round­ed excision at posterior margin. Forceps asymmetrical, widened and trigonal basally, tap­ering apically. Genitalia (Fig. 9) specific; paramere broad, V-shaped, median incision of anterior margin very deep; genital lobes well developed, without virgae; external para­meres broadened in basal section. Female very similar to male, but general colouration lighter and forceps symmetrical. Length of body with forceps: male: 9.5- 10.5, female: 9-10 mm. Holotype male: Ghana, Ashanti region, Bobori forest res, 320 m, N 6 40 - W 1 15, Nr. 305, sifting, 15. II. 1969, legit Dr. S. Endrődy­Younga, gen. prep. No. 241, det. Dr. H. Steinmann. - Paratypes: ditto, 1 male, gen. prop. No. 203, det. Dr. H. Steinmann, and 2 males, one female. - Deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. Gonolabis umbrosa (Brindle) comb. nov. Gelotolabis umbrosa Brindle, Ann. Mag. nat. Hist., (13) 7: 752, fig. 5 (male for­ceps), 13 (male genitalia). - Terra typica: Tanganyika (Type male: Manchester Museum). Discussion: Male blackish, including head; antennae and legs brown; femora with dark brown bands. Head deeply punctured. First antennái segment black, rest brown except for yellow (segments 13-14). Eyes about as long as genae, but shorter than scape. Post­frontal sutures and coronal suture distinct. Pronotum quadrate, aU margine straight, and all angles rounded. Tegmina and wings absent. Meso- und metanotum normal. Abdomen slightly dilated to last tergite; abdominal punctation very strong; shining black. Ultimate tergite rug­ose; transverse, with posterior margin slightly concave. Forceps trigonal on basal half, cylindrical on apical half; slightly denticulate on inner margins. Genitalia (Fig. 10) charact­eristic; paramere V-shaped, median incision of anterior margin very broad and deep; genit­al lobes without virgae; narrow; external parameres parallel-sided for basal two-thirds . Length of body with forceps: male: 20-22 mm. Female: unknown. Distribution: Tanzania.
