Genitalia (Fig. 5) broad; external parameres with promin­ent, rounded angle on outer margin. Female similar to male, but forceps symmetrical, more or less trigonal basally, contiguous, tapering. Discussion: Male shining blackish, with red head and brown antennae; femora black. Head tumid, broad, darker laterally and on mouthparts. Antennae 20-segmented; brown ex­cept for black first segment. Eyes small, shorter than scape. Pronotum more or less quad­rate, with a short median longitudinal furrow. Tegmina and wings absent. Abdomen greatly dilated to last tergite; almost impunctate except the lateral margins of tergites 5-8 which are rugose. Ultimate tergite quadrate, almost smooth, with an impressed median longit­udinal line. Forceps asymmetrical, trigonal basally, abruptly becoming cylindrical, base broadened but without marked teeth. Genitalia (Fig. 6) typical; paramere strongly V-shaped; genital lobe without virga; external paramere widened medially. Female as male, but ab­domen smoother though rugose laterally on segments 5-8; forceps symmetrical, tapering. Length of body with forceps: male: 21 - 21. 5, female: 20-24 mm. Distribution: Tanzania. Gonolabis erythrocephala (Brindle) comb. nov.
