S. Mahunka szerk.: Folia Entomologica Hungarica 28/2. (Budapest, 1975)

Chelonus pusillus SZÉPL. Head twice as broad as long (30:16), behind eyes rounded and gradually (not strongly) constricted. Body densely coriaceous. Antenna of types 19-20 jointed, that of specimens at hand with 22 joints. Length 2.3-2.5 mm (and not 2 mm). Since its description (Szépligeti 1908) it was reported only from Finland (from 7 localities), and from the "European part of USSR" (TOBIAS 1972). In Hungary known only from two type-localities (Budapest, Fonyód). New to the fauna of Yugoslavia. Locality: Dalmatia, Novi, 2 <j>, leg. SZÉPLIGETI. Chelonus rufiscapus SZÉPL. (= Ch. szepligetii D.T.) The specific name of " rufiscapus SZÉPL." was put in homonymy with " rufiscapus PROV." The latter name refers to a Microchelonus species and not to a Chelonus one (SHENEFELT 1973 b). Hence " rufiscapus SZÉPL." is the senior valid name instead of "szepligetii D.T." used by several authors. The female specimen agrees in all respects with the type seen. Known from Hungary; its occurrence in Azerbaidzhan is dubious (TOBIAS 1972). Locality: Curzola (=Ins. Krk), Dalmatia, 1914, 1 £, leg. HORVÁTH. Chelonus scabrator (FABR.) Extension of black pattern of hind femur variable. Common in the Palearctic Region. Reported by GRAEFFE (1908) from Tolmein (=Tolmin, Slovenia) as " Ch.buccatus THOMS." Localities: 1. Albania, Ipek (=Y., Kosovo, Pee), Banica, 24 June 1917, 1 £, leg. CSÍKI (Akad. Balk. Exp.). - 2. Macedonia, §tip, river Kriva Lakavica, 300 m, 8 May 1971, 5 ci, P-H, No. 6. - 3. Macedonia, Lake Dojran, Dojran, 150-500 m, 910 May 1971, 2 cf, P-H, No. 7. Chelonus sculpturatus SZÉPL. Antenna 30 (and not 28) jointed, otherwise similar to the Hungarian specimens. Apical part of abdomen strongly incurved below, lower aparture of abdomen as long as two-thirds of abdomen. A rare species, recorded from 3 localities in Hungary and from 1 locality in Mongolia. New to the fauna of Yugoslavia. Locality: Serbia, Vranja, Sept. 1902, 1 cf, leg. HORVÁTH. Chelonus submuticus WESM. Among the males there are few specimens with restricted or wanted basal pale spots. Distributed in the entire Palearctic Region. Reported by GRAEFFE (1908) from Volosco, Dalmatia. Localities: 1. Albania, Ipek (=Y., Kosovo, Pec'), 29 June 1917: 1 ç, 26 July 1917: 1 o, leg. CSEKI (Akad. Balk. Exp.). - 2. Macedonia, Stip, river Kriva Lakavica, 300 m, 8 May 1971, 2 j & 20 cf, P-H, No. 6. - 3. Macedonia, Lake Dojran, Dojran, 150-500 m, 9-10 May 1971, 1 j & 3 cf, P-H, No. 7. - 4. Kosovo, Mts. Sar, Brezovica, 900-1200 m, 20-23 May 1971, 3 £ Â 4 cf, P-H, No. 16.
