FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK (SERIES NOVA) XXVII. 2. 1974. P . 187 .204 A Revision of the Dermaptera in the „A. Koenig" Museum, Bonn By H. STEINMANN (Received 15 June, 1974) ABSTRACT: A revision of the Dermaptera material preserved in the Zoologisches Forschungsinstitut und Museum A . Koenig, Bonn; 29 known and 4 new species could be established. Description of Paratimomenus gen.nov. and of the new species Schizodiplatys subangustatus, Haplodiplatys orientális , Exypnus chinensis, and Oreasiobia chinensis . By the kindness of Dr. H. KLOCKENHOFF, I have received for study the Dermaptera material preserved in the A .Koenig Zoologisches Forschungsinstitutund Museum, Bonn. The material was already, and provisionally, identified by someone, but the identification was presumably made at a time when the specific characteristics of the genital organs had not yet been used in the separation of species. For the analysis of the more subtle taxonomical characteristics a comparative morphological examination of the genitalia is now indispensable. I made therefore slides of all species involded and on this basis performed a revision of the taxa. The material, comprising more than 700 specimens, represents 29 already known and 4 new species. The material is especially interesting by reason of originating preponderantly from J. KLAPPERICH' s collection made in Fukien, East China, in 1937-1938; the new species all derived from this priceless material. The major part of the material belongs to the family Forficulidae, with merely 2 species representing the Pygidicranidae, 4 the Carcinophoridae, 2 the Chelisochidae, Labiduridae and Labiidae, and one each the familia Apachyidae.
