Diplatyinae BURR, 1909 Schizodiplatys subangustatus sp.nov. (Figs. 1-5) Chocolate brown. Head typical, wide and flat. Basal joints of antennae short, about as long as the frontal section between the scapi. Vertex consoicuously convex between eyes, then deeply impressed on both sides of median line towards the occiput. Pronotum nearly round, with a broad light yellow stripe on lateral and posterior ledge-shaped and slightly elevated margins; rest of pronotum nearly black. Tegmen (?elytra) long and wide, anteriorly darker, medially and posteriorly lighter brown (Fig. 1). Legs brown, long; anterior femur about as long as combined length of head and pronotum. Wings reaching posteriorad almost to middle of abdomen. Beyond median narrow section of abdomen, last tergite of males visibly widened, its posterior margin constricted, with its short median section concave (Fig. 2). Cerci nearly straight, apically slightly curving inwards. Last tergite of females narrower, cerci somewhat narrower than in males (Fig. 3). Posterior margin of last male sternite strongly sinuous, with a concave section each beside its median, projecting, rounded section (Fig. 4.) Apices of paired male metaparameres constituting 2 large, deeply cleft and sharply divided lobes (teeth) (Fig. 5). Inner (or basal) tooth of metaparamere considerably longer than the apical one, yet both lobes keeping closely together. Metaparameres strongly sigmoid. Median cleavage on anterior margin of paramere extremely deep, paramere V-shaped, vesiculum of virga basalis in its genital lobe undivided, apically curving strongly inward then outward, apex narrowly elongated. Length of body (without cerci): male: 10,5 mm; female: 13,6 mm; male cerci: 1,7 mm, female cerci: 1, 8 mm. Holotype male: (China) Kwangtseh-Fukien, 18,7 1937 (gen.prep. No. 436, det. Dr . H . STEINMANN), legit: J. KLAPPERICH. Paratype female: (China) Fukien, Kuatun (2300 m), 27. 40n. Br. 117. 40Ö, 30.5.1938, legit: J. KLAPPERICH (1 ex). - Deposited in the Zoologisches Forschungsinstitut und Museun, Bonn. Identification key to the Schizodiplatys species of SE Asia 1 (4) Inner (or basal) tooth of cleft metaparamere considerably longer than outer one; lobe more or less sigmoid. 2 (3) Virga undivided within paired genital lobe (Fig. 5), comp rati very wide, preapically strongly arcuate, terminating in a narrowly elongated apex.Metaparamere strongly sinuous, sigmoid. Cleavage in antero-median section of paramere extremely deep, plate V-shaped, depth of incision reaching apex of genital lobe. Distribution: China: Fukien subangustatus sp.nov.
