dec! shoulders; lateral panel with oblique depression very shallow, ventral margin rounded. Linear shallow notauli extending over three-fifths of mesoscutum. Scutellum with frenum indicated only by broader meshes of shallow reticulation. Dorsellum short, nearly smooth. Propodeum medially less than half length of scutellum, nearly smooth but with distinct median carina and plical furrows delimiting median area; plicae sharp only posteriorly; nucha slightly indicated by the narrowly raised adpetiolar margin; callus feebly haired; furrow behind elongate spiracle shallow; supracoxal flange very narrow. Prepectus small. Mesopleural episternum laterally and lower epimerum reticulate, upper epimerum smooth. Legs of medium strength, femora slightly thickened; hind coxa dor sally with one row of hairs which do not reach base; mid and hind tarsi only slightly shorter than corresponding tibiae; hind tibia with one spur. Fore wing basally bare (Text-fig. 2), speculum extending anteriorly to base of stigmal vein, pubescence otherwise not dense; costal cell dorsally bare, ventrally with one line of hairs expanding to several rows distally; parastigma slightly broadened, marginal vein short and relatively broad, postmarginal vein shorter than the marginal, stigmal vein about as long as the marginal and enlarged into broad stigma (Text-figs. 1, 2). Gaster of male sessile, with petiole very short, first tergite not long and collapsing together with following tergites which are subequal in length, with hind margins straight. Cereal bristles not long. Type-species: Szelenyinus brevinervis sp.nov. Szelenyinus brevinervis sp.nov. Male: 1.9-2.7 mm. Bright metallic green, gaster basally dark green, posteriorly merging with black to purplish. Coxae concolorous with body, legs otherwise, as well as antennae, testaceous; antennae darkened apically, claw segments of tarsi fuscous. Wings hyaline, submarginal vein testaceous with parastigma slightly darkened, but rest of venation pale yellow. Head dorsally almost exactly twice as broad as long, with rounded and slightly receding temples 0,43 the length of eye (dorsally; Text-fig. 1) POL about 2.3 times OOL. In facial view head 1.20-1.22 times as broad as high (Text.fig. 4). Relative measurements: width of head 100, of frons 65, eye 48:35, malar space 22, mouth width 55, scapus 36:8 in lateral view, flagellum plus pedicellus 87, pedicellus 14:7, clava 33:8.5. A lunate area between base of closed mandible and mouth corner membranous. For antenna see Text-fig. 3. Thorax 1. 57 times as long as broad. Pronotum posteriorly without smooth strip, collar medially fully one-fifth the length of mesoscutum, latter 1. 55 times as broad as long. Scutellum slightly convex, 1.1 times as long as broad. Otherwise for relative dimensions of body and wings see Text-figs. 1-4. Female unknown. Holotype 6: ITALY, Ceriale near Albenga, 3.IX. 1972 (BOUCEK); deposited in BMNH, London. Paratypes, 2 ód, same origin as the holotype. Biology unknown. All specimens collected by sweeping on calcareous slopes with sparse maquis-like vegetation.
