Discoidal cell generally long, approximately as long, or somewhat longer than, basal part of lateral branch of radial vein. - A single genus known from Europe. — Discoidal cell of fore wing relatively long, undulated. First and second endforks de­veloped (Fig. 3). Hind wings proportionated, but those of females of Anomapolterygella FISCHER might be even rudimentary. Hind wings pro­portionated, but those of females of Anomalopterygella FISCHER extremely shortened. Endforks showing different shapes, their identification requiring attention. - All gene­ra of the subfamily represented in Europe. 1 (2) Hind wing short and narrow, narrower than fore wing. Fore wing of male atte­nuated, its venation simple, without cross-veins, and therefore also discoidal cell absent (Fig. 5). In hind wings some longitudinal veins eventually present; apex of membrane attenuated, but its end rounded (Fig. 6). Fore and hind wings of female characteristic, but hind wing reaching at most anastomosis of fore wing (Figs. 7, 8). - Type-species: chauviniana STEIN, 1874 (Anomalopteryx) (West and central Europe) Anomalopterygella FISCHER, 1966 2 (1) Hind wing medium or long, not significantly narrower than the usual proportions.
