3 (4) Hind wings covered in a broad stripe with sparsely situated scales. Endforks of fore and hind wings: 1, 2, 3, 5 (Figs. 9, 10). - Type species: lepidoptera RAMBUR, 1842. Only a single species of the genus known, living in Italy, France and Sardinia . Monocentra RAMBUR, 1842 4 (3) Hind wing without scales. 5 (6) In tridial and third anal cell of hind wing a row of long bristles. - Type-species: budtzi ULMER, 1913, 1913 (Potamorites) . A single species of the genus known from Corsica. Leptodrusus SCHMID, 1955 6 (5) Tiridial and third anal cell without row of bristles, (not to be confounded with hairy stripe). 7 (10) On anal part of hind wings pleats or wrinkles absent. 8 (9) Discoidal cell of fore wing short, approximately as long as basal part of lateral branch of radial vein; radial vein more strongly undulated, undulated part discernible above discoidal cell (Fig. 11). On hind wing of male a hairy spot absent in third anal ceU (Fig. 12). Tibial spurs: 1, 2, 3. - Type-species: flavipennis PICTET, 1834 (Phryganea). Two of the three known species of the genus European: flavipennis PICTET, 1834 (Phryganea) (West Europe and Italy), rhaetica SCHMID, 1955 (West and Central Europe, Balkan). Metanoea MACLACHLAN, 1880 9 (8) Discoidal cell of fore wing long, well discernibly longer than basal part of lateral branch of radial vein; radial vein moderately or not undulated above discoidal ceU (Fig. 13). On hind wing of male a wrinkled hairy spot on third anal cell (Fig. 14). Tibial spurs: 1, 3, 3, those of males rarely, 0, 3, 3, - Type-species: annulatus STEPHENS, 1829 (Anabolia).
