1892, in external morphology. The configuration of the genitalia precludes a relegation to the E. irriguât a HBH., or E.limbata STGR. groups, but constitutes with irritaria STGR. a distinct specific group. The new species was found during a study of the extremely rich Eupithecia material preserved in the Zoologisches Forschungsinstitut und Museum A.Koenig, Bonn, Germany.
