FOLIA ENTOMOLOGICA HUNGARICA ROVARTANI KÖZLEMÉNYEK (SERIES NOVA) XXVI. 2. 1973. p. 401-405 A New Eupithecia Species from Armenia: Eupithecia kueppersi sp. n. (Lepidoptera: Geometridae) By A. M. VOJNITS (Received; 8 January, 1973) Abstract. - The Armenian species, Eupithecia kueppersi sp.n., resembles E.irritaria STAUDINGER, 1892, in external morphology. The configuration of the genitalia precludes a relegation to the E. irriguât a HBH., or E.limbata STGR. groups, but constitutes with irritaria STGR. a distinct specific group. The new species was found during a study of the extremely rich Eupithecia material preserved in the Zoologisches Forschungsinstitut und Museum A.Koenig, Bonn, Germany. The material contained also true E .irritaria STGR. specimens. My research was made possible by the grant of the Humboldt Foundation,Bonn, and substantially helped and supported by Dr.U. ROESLER, Keeper of Lepidoptera, and Dr. F.SAUER, Director of the Museum; I am deeply indebted to both. Eupithecia kueppersi sp.n. Diagnosis. A rather small-sized species. Alar expanse 15,5-16,5 mm, without any essential difference in size as to sex or the several specimens. Fore wing elongated, costa slightly, termen hardly ,dorsum not arcuate. Hind wing rounded. Basic color white 401
