nued. The Entomological Society, reorganized after the war, "began to issue, in 1923, the „Fólia Entomologies Eungarica", and the publications of the Society appeared under this name until 1943. However, only two volumes were published between 1923 and 1937,and it was only after 1937 that the periodical appeared regularly. The Society, resuscitated after World War II, regarded the publication of the periodical a3 one of its very first tasks. In 1946, the „Rovartani Közlemények" /Folia Entomologies Hungarica/ did indeed appear, financed not so much by the resources of the Society proper /we could not even dream of the publication of a journal in the worst inflational period in history/, as by governmental subsidies. In later times, the support of the Natural Hisotry Museum secured the regular publication of the gazette which,as regards both its bulk and the varied scope of the papers, showed an upward trend ever since. There can be no doubt that the growth of entomology in Hungary more than depends or a uniform, well organized society, comprising of ai-duous amateurs, welded together for the common cause, and striving to achieve scientific goals. Our Society tried to live up to the tasks allotted to It, to organize entomological life and to secure tlhe collaboration, of amateur and professional entomologists.The regularly held meetings and their attendance, the continuation of our publications, the safeguarding of the interests of our fellow entomologists ara indubitably positive results in the events of the la3t years. The Hungarian Entomological Society was in the foremost rank3 in the discussiou of up-to-date scientific problems, in the learned talks, - in a friendly spirit! - of the first principles of our science, and thus had greatly contributed to the clarification of problems and the evolvement of a scientific outlook.
