István Vörös: Egy vemhes kanca csontváza a Pilismarót-Szobi révi római kiserődben
192 ISTVÁN VÖRÖS The surface of the skull and of the postcranial bones is porous, velvety like some felt to the touch. The wall of diaphyses consists of concretic laminale, the diaphyses are hollow, the surfaces of diaphyses with diploe are perforated in a diffused manner. To determine the age of the foetus the dimensions of bones can be used (Table 3.). The diaphysis dimension values of the foetus from Pilismarót are distributed between those of a 7 and of a 10 months old foetus. (230 and 300 days old foetus, without bone dimensions, PRUMMEL 1987. Fig. 4., 6., 10., 14., 16., 19., 20.) As for the dimensions the mp of the Pilismarót foetus is by 10 per cent, its femur is by 5 per cent, its tibia is by 10 per cent, its humerus-radius is by 20—25 per cent shorter than the respective bone dimensions of a 10 months old horse foetus. The Pilismarót horse foetus had been perished most probaly when it was 8—9 months old. Considering a springtime covering and an average 11 months gestation period the mare had been killed in January-February. 3. Other bone remains in the fossa The distribution of finds was not even within the fossa. Most of them was found within the E part of the S fossa and in the N part of the E fossa. The majority of them was found at about 30-60 cm over the bottom of the fossa at the same level while part of them was at the side of the fossa at a higher level. The find assemblages were documented and collected either as numbered (from 1 till 19) or according to parts/sections (Fig. 1.): - Southern fossa, pit 1/1. 1978.-human, horse (sk), pig, - Southern fossa, to the E of the entrance, Nr. 1-9., between 20-30 m, 1979: Nr. 1. cattle, horse, sheep, pig, dog (sk), Nr. 2. dog, Nr. 3. human, cattle, horse, Nr. 4. human, cattle, horse, sheep, pig, Nr. 5. human, cattle, sheep, Nr. 6. cattle, Nr. 7. human, Nr. 8.
