In our article, we used publications in the PubMed between 1988 and 2017 about the relationship between diabetes mellitus and oral lichen. The incidence of lichen planus among diabetics is 2,52%, in the control group 0,97%, and the incidence of diabetes among lichen planus patients is 23,32%. Studies show that lichen planus, as one of the most common precancerosus lesions, is closely related to diabetes, there­fore the oral and metabolic control of the affected patient group requires special attention and interdisciplinary collaboration.
