A 3. páciens esetében erős reakciót kaptunk mind szervetlen (higanyklorid), mind szerves (merti oldat) higany allergénre; a fogászati fémek közül a nikkelre, krómra és rézre gyenge volt a reakció. Mivel a szerves és a szervetlen higanyvegyületek között keresztreakció lehet [21], s az ugyanakkor jelenlévő egyéb fémek hatására fokozódik a biológiai korrózió veszélye - ami elősegítheti a higany fokozott kiszabadulását az amalgámtömésekből —, ezért tanácsosnak véltük az amalgámtömések kicserélését.

A közleményünkben bemutatott mindhárom páciens, de az általunk vizsgált akrilátallergiás páciensek többsége formaldehidre is allergiás volt, ezért, ha az apikután tesztelés során formaldehidre pozitív reakciót kapunk, nem javasolható az adott páciens esetében az akrilátalapú fogpótlás elkészítése előtt - az allergiás szűrővizsgálat elvégzése.

Ezen betegeknek akrilátmentes (pl. poliamidalapú) fogpótlást kerámiafogakkal vagy fogászati implantátum helyezhető be, melyre a tesztelés során alkalmasnak bizonyult fémre égetett kerámiapótlás készíthető.
