házasságkötésük 25-ik évfordulójához. Mikó Tibor és Ildikó, valamint Stejanko Ferenc és Márta Urunk szeretetét, megtartó kegyelmét, sokféle áldását tapasztalták az elmúlt negyed évszázad alatt. Ők is és a gyülekezet is hálát kívánt adni ezért a kegyelemért. Az igehirdetés az Efézus 3:14-19 alapján szólt hozzájuk és a gyülekezethez. Hogyan tovább? Hálát adva a múltért, folyamatosan növe­kedve a belső emberben, meggyökerezve és tovább épülve a Krisztus ismeretében és szeretetében. Az ünnepeltek közös ebéden látták vendégül a gyülekezet tagjait és a vendégeket, melynek során folytattuk a köszöntéseket. A Bancsov házaspár énekel Bancsov Károly testvért és feleségét is köszöntöttük abból az alkalomból, hogy a testvér hamarosan visszautazik Nagyvá­radra. A közöttünk töltött 3 hónap alatt sokszor szolgált Bancsov testvér az igével is. Ezúttal, többek között elénekel­ték duettben a “Napfényt a szívedbe” kezdetű éneket. Urunk áldását kívánjuk a két évfordulós házaspárra, valamint Bancsov Károly testvérékre. (Máté) í| bethesda Baptist Retirement Home April at Bethesda April at Bethesda is always a signifi­cant month. After all, Easter falls within the month and that to us is a very special time of year. This year it was no differ­ent then it was in previous years. Easter is a special time to reflect on the price that Jesus paid to assure us all of a place in glory. He paid for our sins on the cruel cross and was resurrected into glory. We at Bethesda were made aware of His sacrifice for us and that we too have a promise of eternal life if we but place our entire faith and trust in Him. Our residents were treated with a dinner fit for a king. Our florists gifted us with balloons and flowers. We have a fine reputation and thus so many of our busi­ness people remember us on these spe­cial occasions. Our Sunday morning services were attended by many of our residents. We were all reminded that “He is Risen. ” It is said that April showers bring May flowers. This year we had only a few showers and this affects all of our growing plants. It affected not only our flowers but also our citrus trees and all other growing plants indigenous to Florida. Because we have a number of deep wells, we were able to water our growing plants and therefore help to keep our grounds looking good. Our rooms for the most of the time are filled with residents. Our apartments are also fully occupied and we have an extended waiting list. If we had twenty more apartments we would fill these also. At the present time, we do not have anything fiirther to report on the possi­ble sale of our properties. We do have a few inquiries who have an interest, but financing seems to be the biggest obsta­cle to overcome. As soon as positive de­velopments take place, I will so advise you. Kish Chairman of the Board GUSTAVE KOVACH 1907-2000 The Funeral Service for the late Gustave Kovach of Kip­ling, Sask., who died on April 1, 2000 at the age of 93, was held on April 7th. Rev. Richard Barta of Cal­vary Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in Cal­vary Baptist Cemetery. Gustave was bom at Kipling on Janu­ary 13, 1907, son of John Kovach, and Julia(Kesteus) Kovach. Gustave married Mary Podobni of Pipestone, Manitoba, on January 24, 1934. They celebrated their 60th Wed­ding Anniversary on 1994. Gustave and Mary raised two children, Garnet and Judith. He was predeceased by his wife Mary, in 1995, one brother, John Kovach, and seven sisters: Mary Myers, Jolán Hutchings, Mar­garet Lowe, Irene Sorensen, Helen Bocskey, Julia Daku and Elizabeth Bute. Gustave is survived by his son, Gar­net of Kipling, his daughter, Judith (Gedeon) Hortulanyi of Kelowna, B.C., four grandchildren, Tammi, Carmi, Da­vid and Gedeon Jr., five great-grand­children; one sister, Emma (Les) Pinter of Kipling, two brothers, Steve (Mary) Kovach of Kipling and Sam Kovach of Esterhazy, as well as nieces and neph­ews. Gustave farmed for a number of years and also delivered mail to rural areas for 41 years. He loved gardening, and there were always lovely flowers in his yard and in the house also. He loved animals, and his two special pet dogs followed him every where, even on the mail routes. Gustave’s cheerful and friendly per­sonality made him loved as a good neighbor end friend by many from Kipling. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family as well as his church family at Calvary Baptist Church. Gustave was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, as a young man he was involved in the brass band and sang in the choir for many years. He con­tinued to sing solos at church till January of this year. Gustave served at the church in many ways, he was Sunday- School Superintendent, deacon, and church clerk for many years. We will miss you Gus, till we meet again! Pauline Daku ALBERT BALOGH The Lord called to His heavenly home a devoted and faithful servant. Al­bert Balogh had served the Lord from his early youth and at the age of 87 he heard His Master’s call “well done thou faithful servant.” Albert had been a member of our original Hungarian Baptist Church in Chicago (West Pullman), where he served the Lord with his parents, Rosa and András Balogh, six sisters and two brothers. Albert was the youngest of the boys. They were a de­voted family who operated a meat mar­ket in Chicago. During the depression years they helped many poor families with food. After the meat market was traded for a farm in Winamac, Indiana, Albert moved to Cleveland, Ohio to be close to his sister, Julia Petre, and to seek employment at one of the local fac­tories. At the Fulton Road Baptist Church he met and married Ruth Gulyas. He served the Lord faithfully there. Albert was blessed with many talents and it was his desire that the church should be in
