Bár az „ima” szó egyszer sem fordul elő, a „kérés” kifejezéssel hatszor találkozunk ebben az igeszakaszban. Minden ima — még a hálaadó ima is — valamiféle szükségünknek a kifejezése, és így kérésnek minősül. Ez az igehely nem tartalmaz garanciát az imameghallgatásra, hanem az imát meghallgató Isten szívébe ad egy rövid betekintést. Az ima meghallgattatásának a feltételeiről máshol olvasunk. Az Isten gyermeke (11. v.), aki Krisztusban meggyökerezett és az Ő akarata szerinti életet él (Ján 15, 7), hittel (Márk 11, 24) és a testvéreivel egyetértésben (Máté 18, 19) közeledjen az Atyához, rendezett embertársi kapcsolatokban megélve a hitét (Máté 6:14-15), hogy a kérése meghallgatást találjon. Copied It was the pleasure of about 22 people to watch MISS LOUISE from The Melbourne Florist and Plantery, Inc. show her expertise in creating a beautiful fall centerpiece of daisies, golden chrysanthemums and red carnations in a large cornucopia basket. She explained each step of selecting color blends, lengths of stems and greenery. To make the bouquet extraordinary, she added a colorful finch bird to perch amidst the splendor. Miss Louise also gave each one a lesson on making pot purri sachet for their own use. It was a memorable activity. Sandwiched in between our weekly activities, the ones involved in crafts have been quite busy getting ready for the November 10th Arts and Craft Festival. Many delicate and beautiful ceramic pieces have been made and T-Shirt designing has been an enjoyable craft. Each resident has created cute pictures and de-October at Bethesda signs geared for both the very young and the older generation. This has been a new craft and all are doing well after a slow reluctant start. They were pleasantly surprised how easy it was once it was started. We recently had the privilege to meet and interview a Miss Sandra Stiles, granddaughter of Rev. Robert Victor. Miss Stiles and Rev. Victor were frequent visitors to the Bethesda Baptist Church. It is so nice to have a family member of a past generation servant to God, return to Palm Bay and even nicer, for her to become a part of our Certified Nurse’s Aide staff. Miss Stiles attended Bethel College in Wichita, Kansas and majored in nursing and communications. She is an excellent worker and has quickly adapted to our residents. She is learning the Hungarian language which has made her a pupil of our 8 Hungarian ladies. Her other interest was her three-year volunteer work at the Dominican Sisters Convent Informary taking care of the elderly. Her mother Sophie Stiles has visited with our residents and has volunteered to visit periodically to do little things for our people as the needs arise. Luk 12:1-12 joined the Bethesda Baptist Church attendees. We have had up to 30 residents attend on several Sundays. There are also 12-14 who gather in the Library for their Catholic Services and Dr. Louis Kali has been most faithful to minister to our folks on Friday afternoons. From the inception of its humble beginnings, Bethesda has always served well the needs of its people with a variety of denominations and ethnic backgrounds. We pray you, our reading audience, will always keep us in mind and in your prayers and tell others about this wonderful place. Make plans to visit with us during the cold, wintery months.
