It wasn’t that the temperature had reached real lows, but rather that the cold lasted for days without too much let up. Our ten furnaces gobbled up fuel at an unprecedented rate. The only comfort that we had was in knowing that other friends were in a far worse position than were we. I suppose that this is just one more way that God warns us to be more humble and considerate of our friends in distant places. We did have frost, but no major damage was had except with some of our more delicate plant life. Because of the cold, our winter guests were slow in arriving and some had even cancelled their reservations entirely for this year. Some Not what we receive, but what we give is the essence of Christian love. Szombat, márc. 21. Az utolsó napok. Máté 24:29 — 35. Vas., márc. 22. Tartsd meg a szövegséget. Józsué 23:14—16. Vasárnapi imaáhitat: Könyörögjünk példaadó életért (Tim. I. 5: 12-16). of our faithful ones however, have arrived and are enjoying the fellowship of old friends and even making new ones. Bethesda is the meeting place of many people from near and far and it is a joy to hear the friendly chatter of these loved ones over a cup of tea. Why not plan to come down to visit with us and join the others who enjoy a little respite from the real cold winter weather of the north. We finally completed all work on our library addition. We have stocked our shelves with whatever books we had received and were on hand. Our supply of reading material is not great, but we do have a starter supply. We have books in the English language as well as in German and Polish. We still invite you to ship your spare books to us at our expense. We appreciate whatever you can do in this regard for us. Our new building is now beautifully furnished and in full use. We are grateful to God for making this possible for us. During the month we hosted the Missions and the Finance Committees of the Hungarian Baptist Union of America. It was a joy for us to meet with the leaders of our Convention and to share with them some of the Bethesda experience. It is our hope that both Committees enjoyed their stay with us and had made plans for even more meaningful missionary projects with our Hungarian speaking constituents and with your Home. These committees work hard and sacrifice their time, money and energies in seeing to it that the work of the Lord continues uninterruptedly. They are to be commended for their untiring efforts for the work that has to be done. Please continue them all in your prayers. May God bless you all. Ernest J.
