postament, and was made by the sculptor György Kiss (1852-1916). The statue itself is 2 m high, and was erected in 1905. The inscription says: Our Lady, Stay with Us, for You are Our Mother! On the back of the postament: Dedicated to the memory of Card. Kolos Vaszary, primate and archbishop of Esztergom, by rhc Rev. Canon Anral Pór, in 1905. 30. The Stone Statue of St Anthony of Padova. The 2m high statue stands in front of the City Church on a 3m fundament. On the front there is an inscription: St Anthony of Padova. pray for us! Erected by the Rev. Canon Anthony Pór, 1910. The statue is the work of the sculptor György Kiss. 31. Queen Elizabeth of Hungary. The 60 cm bust of the queen was erected in 1932, at the entrance of the avenue on the bank of the Danube which was named after her. The original hint was made of terracotta by György Zala, but suffered serious damages during World War II. After the war the harmed statue was placed in the Balassa Museum. The head was broken off. In 1999 János Vadász restored it, to the order of the Union of The Friends of Eszter­gom, and a similar bust made of bronze was erected in 2000. It was erected as a gift from the city of Ehingen, Germany. It is the work of Tibor Horváth, a sculptor from Vác. 32. The Bust of The Kurucz General János Bottyán »The Blind«. (The name »kurutz« refers to Hungarian insurrectionists in the 17th and 18th century. General János Bottyán was given the nickname »the Blind« after losing one eye in a battle against imperial troops.) The 90cm statue is to be found at the entrance of Prince Géza Industrial School. It has a 190 cm high fundament, and was made by Walter Madarassy (1909-1994). Originally it was in the courtyard of the former barracks, opposit the entrance. It was put up there in 1934. The original inscription is on the back of the statue saying: Crew and ScafF of Officers of the Royal Bottyán »The Blind. Battalion. Today On the front side we can read the inscription: On Occasion of The Milleneum of The Foundation of The City, It Was Restored by Industrial School No. )17. The Statue was taken to its pre­sent place in 1973. 33. Heroic Memorial. It was put up in Rudnay Square (the former »Heroes' Square«) to the memory of those killed in World War I, in 1926. The 10m high stone memorial is the work of the sculptor Dezső Lányi (1879-1961). On the top of the obelisk there we find an urn surrounded by four eagles. On the fundament there is a lion protecting the Hungarian Crown and Shield. On the frontage we can see a mourning male figure on his knees.
