THE HUNGARIAN MOTIFS OF A SHORT STORY BY KRLE2A by István Lőkös This article deals with the Hungarian motifs of the short story Ivan Krizovec by Miroslav Krleza; one of the most exciting short stories about the Glembay family, which is fairly rich in the author's personal experiences in Hungary. Krleza recorded two spheres of the experiences of his five year studentship in Hungary, the memories of attending the school of cadets in Pécs on the one hand, and those stored at the Military Academy of Budapest on the other. Krizovec, the hero of the short story, recalls his school years spent in Hungary, when he memorized the works of Károly Kisfaludy, Mihály Vörösmarty, Miklós Zrínyi. Hungarian scenery revives in his memory and he gives us an interesting picture of the way of life prevailing in Hungary at the time. The article confronts the events of the short story with those of the real life-story of the author and adopting philological methods it refers to the genesis of the life-work. 234-
