OLDAL Nationwide friendship with colorful programs Tajvani bennszülöttek hadi és vadásztáncai A Yuan-Yuan Bennszülött Kulturális és Mű­vészeti Csoport képviseli Tajvant a Folkloriadán. A Piatownból jött táncosokat Istana Wumar vezeti, és a következőket mondta magukról: tizenegyen vannak, de nem keve­sebb, mint 12 progra­mot hoztak a tarsolyuk­ban. Ezek természete­sen a legősibb és legnép­szerűbb tajvani táncok, minden esetben énekkel kombinálva, és főképp dobokkal kísérve. Ugyanis hadi- és vadász­táncokról van szó, amikben megvan a lá­nyoknak is a maguk szerepe: ők biztatják a férfiakat a küzdelemre, és persze a győze­lemre. Nagy izgalommal jöttek Pécsre, sze­remének minél több, számukra eddig isme­retlen tánccal megismerkedni. Míves ruhák belga csipkével a táncosokon The Warrior and Hunting Dances of Taiwanese Aboriginals The Yuan-Yuan Indigenous Culture and Artistic Group is representing Taiwan at Folkloriada. The dancers from the town of Piatown are led by Istana Wumar, who said the Mowing about the group: although there are only 11 dancers in all, they have prepared 12 different programs for Folkloria­da. Their repertoire depicts the authentic and popular dances of Taiwan, all accompa­nied by singing and those ever popular drums characteristic of their warrior and hunting dances. In these dances the women also have an important role in supporting the men in their struggle and cheering them onto victory. The group members are very excited about being in Pécs and are looking forward to getting to know the dances of other cul­tures. Klasszikus indiai és radzsisztáni szent táncok Gujaratból érkezett hozzánk a Shivam Nrutya Kulturális Akadémia tánccsoport­ja. Vezetőjük, Bhvana Bhavsar asszony arról szólt, hogy főképp radzsisztáni szent táncokat és klasszikus indiai tánco­kat adnak elő, köztük a idusok ősi táncát, a rasz grbát. Az 1982 óta működő együt­tes sokszor turnézik, többször jártak már Európában, legutóbb Görögországban. Magukkal hozták különös, egzotikus hangzású hangszereiket, amikkel saját magukat kísérik. Magyarországot, Pécset egyáltalán nem ismerik, ezért mindenre kíváncsiak, ami a Folkloriadán vár rájuk. Amire persze leginkább vágynak: sok jó zenét hallani és érdekes táncprogramo­kat látni. Classical and sacred dances from India and Rajasthan The Shivan Nrutya Cultural Academy’s dance group has arrived to Hungary from Gujarat. Their director, Bhvana Bhavsar, told us that they will present some sacred dances from the region of Rajasthan and classical dances from around India, like the Ras-Garba, which is an ancient tradition­al dance from the reg­ion of Gujarat. The dance group, formed in 1982, has been on tour in Europe sev­eral times - most recently in Greece. They also brought with them their exot­ic instruments on which they accompa­ny the dancers. They have never been to Pécs or Hungary before, so they are very curious about everything that awaits them at the Folkloriada Festival. But what they are most looking forward to is experiencing the unique music and dances of the cultures represented at Folkloriada. Dalban, táncban a bosnyák népi élet A Bosznia-Hercegovinai Usora városá­ból érkezett az Izvor névre hallgató 20 fős gyerek tánccsapat. Ruzica Ivic el­mondta, hogy a régi táncok és énekek mel­lett még gyermekjáté­kokat is bemutatnak a műsor során. Kará- ^csonytól karácsonyig a « programjuk címe, és ebben felvonultatják mindazt, ami egy nap- tári év során dalban és táncban jellemző a bos­nyák népi életre. A 11-15 éves fiatalok hangszereket is hoztak magukkal, köz­tük a leginkább balalajkára hasonlító sargiát. Az Izvor járt már a környező or­szágok fesztiváljain, de persze különle­ges alkalomnak tartják, hogy ezúttal a Folkloriadán mutathatják meg magukat. Bosnian folk life in dance and song The Izvor Group of 20 young dancers and musicians has come from the town of Usora in Bosnia-Hercegovina. Their direc­tor, Ruzica Ivic told us that apart from performing authentic dances apd songs, the children will also demonstrate popular folk games. Their program entitled ’From Christmas to Christmas’, encompasses and depicts all the characteristic dance and song elements of Bosnian folk life in a calendar year. The children - all between the age of 11 and 15 also play on authentic instruments such as the ’sar- giat’ which resembles the balalajka. The group has participated in festi­vals in many neighboring countries and truly considers it an honor to have been invited to Folkloriada. Kannibalizmust idéző harci viselet Új-Kaledóniából Tán a legmesszebbről, az óceániai sziget­világból, Futunáról érkezett a Faletolu együttes. Mint Francois Pagatele beszá­molt róla, műsoruk két részből áll: harci táncokból és úgynevezett életképekből - ez utóbbiakat főképp lányok és asszo­nyok adják elő. A tradicionális zenét tam-tam dobbal, lali és jukule hangsze­Gauguin utódai a Szent István téren rekkel csalogatják elő, míg a ruházatuk­kal olyan elemeket is felvonultatnak, amiket még a kannibalizmus idején hordtak elődeik. A csoport csak azt saj­nálta, hogy nem tudott még több egyedi hangszert elhozni, de már egy hónapja úton vannak, Pécsre egy hónapos francia turné után toppantak be. Nagyon kíván­csiak a magyar néptáncra, amiből ízelítőt kaptak néhány éve egy fesztiválon. War costumes from the New Caledonian cannibal age The Faletolu group has arrived from per­haps the greatest distance:- the Pacific Islands - more specifically Futuna island. As group director Francois Pagatele said, their program is composed of two parts: the first consists of war dances, the second is anecdotal pictures, performed by girls and women. Traditional music is provided by tam-tam drums, lali and jukule instruments, and their costumes are reminiscent of the can­nibal period of their ancestors. The group’s only regret is that they were unable to bring more instruments with them because they arrived to Pécs after hav­ing completed a month-long tour of France. They are very interested in Hungarian folk dance, which they were first exposed to a few years ago at a festival. CIOFF World Folkloriada célja az autentikus tánc- és ze­nei hagyomány bemutatása. Mindezek mellett példát aka­runk mutatni a hagyomány mű­vészi megformálására is, és úgy véljük, hogy mai gyakorla­tunkban nem _ .. tudunk jobb és M L H A i< egyetemesebb példát találni erre, amilyen nagy zeneszerző­ink Bartók Béla és Kodály Zoltán életműve. Mint köztudott, zeneszerzői, előadó-művészeti, zenepedagó­gusi munkájuk mellett gyűjtöt­ték a népdalokat, s magyar, szlo­vák, román, török, algériai gyűj­téseik az első rögzített, felbe­csülhetetlen értékű felvételek népzenei hagyományainkról. Munkásságuk nemcsak tudomá­nyos és művészeti szempontból jelentős, hanem a „népek testvé­riségét” is példázza, a szó nemes értelmében. A III. World Folkloriada kere­tében a fesztivál szellemiségé­hez igazodva a Pannon Filhar­monikusok két világhírű magyar zeneszerző, Kodály Zoltán és Bartók Béla műveit szólaltatja meg szombaton 20.00 órakor a Dóm téren. A műsorban közre­működnek román, szlovák, bul- gár, török, algériai és magyar népzenészek és a Pannon Fil­harmonikusok. ■ In the footsteps of Bartók... The aim of the 3rd World Folklo­riada is to present authentic folk dance and music traditions. We also wish to present a model for the artistic expression of folk he­ritage. One such model is KI, „, - c exemplified by INI KUb the life-works of two of our great com­posers, Béla Bartók and Zoltán Kodály. Apart from their world- renowned work as composers, performing artists, and music instructors, they provided an invaluable contribution to the field of ethnomusicology and to our music heritage with field recordings of Hungarian, Slova­kian, Rumanian, Bulgarian, Turkish, and Algerian folk songs. Their work in the field is significant not merely for its sci­entific and artistic value but because it represents the ’’broth­erhood among peoples”. In the course of the 3rd World Folkloriada and following the festival's mentality the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra plays works of the two world-famous Hungarian composers, Zoltán Kodály and Béla Bartók in coop­eration with folk musicians from Algeria, Bulgaria, Hunga­ry, Slovakia and Turkey in Dóm Square at 20.00 on Saturday. ■
