REFORMÁTUSOK LAPJA 5 Duquesne Hungarian Reformed Church, Rev. Árpád Orosz of the McKeesport Free Hungarian Reformed Church, Imre Király, in his patriarchal age, — the oldest living chief-executive of the Hungarian Reformed Federation, and Eugene Szebedinszky, editor of the bi-weekly “Magyarság” were also in attendance at the Installation Service. Mrs. Audrey Showalter was organist for the occasion. The festival reception and banquet was held in the spacious and beautifully decorated dining hall of the Duquesne Golf Club. Zoltán Tóth, First Vice-Elder of the Consistory was most efficient and popular in his role as Master of Ceremonies. First he introduced the officiating minister and guests of honor at the head-table, including members of the minister’s family from Canada: Christina and Priscilla Ghato, Elizabeth and Susie Palmer, Peter Lewis and Hilda Vinnai. From the Hungarian Presbyterian Church of Welland, Canada, where the minister has served for 21 years, came a delegation of four: Mr. and Mrs. Louis Dávid and Mr. and Mrs. James Kacsó. Theis was also another truly appreciated guest: Mrs. Wilburn A. Roby, Sr. Following this the Pittsburgh area delegations were recognized, virtually representing all segments of the Hungarian community. — Words of greetings were brought at the head-table dais by Dr. Dénes Török, President of the Pittsburgh Council of Hungarian Churches and Societies, by László Pásztor, Vice-President of the American Hungarian Federation (Washington, D.C.), Rev. Sándor Mészáros, pastor of the First Hungarian Lutheran Church of Pittsburgh, Rev. Zoltán KovUs on behalf the Pittsburgh Area Hungarian Protestant Ministerial Association, and by Mr. Gus Nagy, Vice-President of the William Penn Association. Other delegations included the American Hungarian Social Association with Joseph Berei, president; the Hungarian Veterans’ Association (M.H.B.K.) with Paul Sályi, president; the Hungarian Professional Society with Zoltán Tóth, vice-president, and, unexpectedly, after hastening home from their performance at the Ligonier Old Folks Home — members of the Pittsburgh Area Hungarian Folk-Dance Group, with their director Earl V. Jones, Jr. Letters of greetings were next on the program. — The Rt. Rev. Dezső Ábrahám (Allen Park, Mich.), Rev. Alexander and Mária Babos (Northfield, Mass), Rev. Béla Bacsó, Interim Pastor of Lorain, Ohio, Dr. László Borsay (Morgantown, W.Va.), Rev. Áron Elek (Cleveland, 0.), Dr. László Harangi (Berea, 0.), Dr. Alexander Havadtőy (Fairfield, Conn.), Rev. Paul Kántor (Fairport Harbor, Ohio), Rev. Imre Kovács (Springdale, Pa.), Rev. Paul Kovács (Ligonier, Pa.), Rev. Paul Markovits (Carmichaels, Pa.), the Rt. Rev. Louis Nagy (Bethlehem, Pa.) sent congratulations to the celebrating minister and his congregation. The main speaker of the evening was Dr. John Biitösi, welcoming the installed minister to the Calvin Synod constituency. Chief Elder Bertalan Oláh extended the congratulations of the Consistory and presented the mipister with a valuable gift-certificate on their behalf. Nancy Tóth, representing the ladies of the church, presented Mrs. Novák with an orchid corsage and a flask of expensive fragrance. In his reply and closing remarks Rev. Novák thanked the men and women of the church for their share in the preparations for this day and especially appreciated the continuing unity of the Hungarian community in Pittsburgh ever so eloquently expressed and demonstrated on this memorable occasion. PLEA TO ALL PRESBYTERS The annual Conference of the Presbyter’s Association is now being planned for the Labor Day weekend. It will be held on September 2 and 3, 1979, at Ligonier, Penna. Attendance has been declining and yet there is a great need for the Presbyters to meet at least once a year. The purpose of the meeting is to unite the Hungarian Reformed Presbyters of America in one organization in order to strengthen the feeling of fraternal unity; to face the common problems with a united front, striving to find solutions and plan united actions at the annual conferences. Additional information will be published as plans are finalized. Please plan to attend. Edmund Vig, President The American Hungarian Reformed Presbyter’s Association v FROM HERE AND THERE: "O GOD" The sign said, “SMILE IF YOU LOVE JESUS,” so I smiled all day long, And people thought I was a staff worker for Jimmy Carter. The sign said, “HONK IF YOU LOVE JESUS,” so I honked, And a policeman arrested me for disturbing the peace in a hospital ’’Quiet Zone.” The sign said, “WAVE IF YOU LOVE JESUS,” so I waved with both hands, But I lost control of my car and crashed into the back of a Baptist bus. O God ------------------------------- If I cannot SMILE or HONK or WAVE How will Jesus know that I love him? (The only answer the Editor could give was to “live a Christian life for all to see and share in, and there would be no need to advertise it on the bumper.”) 0 (From St. Paul News, St. Paul Homes, Greenville, Pa.
