and 5 Combined Services, a total of 54. The attendance at the English Services numbered 697, Combined 73, a total of 770. During the summer on three Sundays we had Services in Hungarian, due to the Hungarian attendance. We observed Holy Communion seven times with 129 persons, Communion seven times with 129 persons, Communion to 6 shut- ins, a total of 135. The Pastor made occasional visitations to the shut-ins in the hospitals and at their homes. The Pastor was substituted on the following occasions by the Rev. Stephen Szabó: March 25, July 8, 15, 22 and September 16. The Pastor preached on March 25th in Fairfield, CT, on April 13th, Good Friday, at the Grace Lutheran Church, on July 6th in Budapest Calvin Square Reformed Church, on July 15th in Hernádkak Reformed Church, on September 28th in Fairfield, CT Calvin Reformed Church and on December 5th in Staten Island Hungarian Reformed Church at the 150th Anniversary of Lajos Kossuth’s visit to the United States. On April 20th, Bishop László Tőkés and Bishop Joseph Tempfli from Transylvania visited our churches with the Christian University Choir, and they were well received in our midst. Their performance gave a spiritual lift to us, we made many friends and strengthened the ties between our Churches. Having our own expenses, we tried to help our sister churches and some different organizations according to our ability. We sent our help to the following: Pl John Calvin Magyar Reformed Church. 103
