NEW BRUNSWICK, NEW JERSEY Magyar Reformed Church Lelkipásztor: Nt. Rőczey Barnabás Főgondnok: John Samok We can look back to the year of 2000 with many thanks in our hearts because God has helped us to serve our church, grow in our spiritual life and reach out to others with love and compassion. His Spirit led our congregation and enabled us to share in the worship, fellowship and financial needs of our church. On November 5, we observed the 85TM ANNIVERSARY OF OUR CHURCH. The worship service was attended by about 200 people and the banquet by 360 people. Our many thanks to all those who helped us and supported us with their ads, time, talents and donations. We are grateful to our heavenly Father for helping the founders to build our beloved church. We praise Him for giving us members who have served our church well and faithfully. We look confidently ahead and ask Him for His continued guidance. Psalm 100 encourages us to WORSHIP the Lord with gladness and come before Him with joyful songs (v.2). Our worship services were attended regularly by our faithful members. The worship of God must be the top priority for our members. God can be worshiped at any place and anytime. But there is no substitute for the worship of God in His house and among believers. Some of our members had assisted in the conduct of the worship by reading the Scriptures, Responsive Readings, Ten Commandments or the Summary of the Law. Some of our worship services were led entirely by our members. The joyful feast of the LORD’S SUPPER was celebrated nine times. The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is established by a command of Christ: “Christ has commanded all believers to eat of the broken bread, and drink the cup in remembrance of Him.” (Heidelberg Catechism, Question 75). What happens at the Communion Table? Christ offers us the continued spiritual nourishment upon which our eternal life depends. It should make us realize that we ought to communion regularly. During the year we tried to be good STEWARDS. Through the generous giving of our faithful members we were able to raise $153.220.00. We thank God for giving us loyal members who are always 99
